Kelly Science is currently recruiting for several Construction Materials Technician for a major environmental company located in Tyler, TX.


This role will be responsible for coordinating priorities and deadlines in both the field and laboratory.


**Job Responsibilities:**


+ Meet with contractor's supervisors, engineer/architect representatives or other project leaders on project sites to discuss and coordinate testing, sampling, or inspection of construction materials or construction procedures.

+ Ensure the safe utilization, storage and maintenance of all nuclear gauges.

+ Update supervisor and dispatcher on progress and delays on every project.

+ Ensure safe usage and maintenance of individually assigned company vehicle, field and laboratory equipment.

+ Meet established project deadlines.

+ Submit accurate and complete testing/inspection reports on a daily basis.

+ Understand, adhere and participate in the Companys Health and Safety and (BBS) Behavior Based Safety Programs and set a good safety example.

+ Lift and carry up to 65 pounds to include, but not limited to tools, sample containers and equipment.

+ Potential exposure to movement of heavy equipment on construction or roadway sites; potential exposure to hazardous dangerous chemicals and solvents, noise, dust, fumes, grease and oils, radiant and electrical energy, and vibration; all of which would require employee to follow proper safety procedures and utilize appropriate protective equipment.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.


**Qualifications/Requirements:**


+ High school or equivalent; Bachelors in Construction Management, Geology, Civil Engineering or related field

+ At least 1 year of applicable experience in the Materials Testing and Inspection Industry is preferred.

+ ACI certification preferred, but not required.

+ Possession of one or more certifications, such as TxDOT SB 102, TxDOT Level 1A, TxDOT Level 1B, NICET Soils or Concrete, ICC Certifications, or other relevant certifications may result in higher compensation.

+ Utilize hand tools such as sledgehammers, shovels and picks.

+ Possess a valid drivers license within the applicable jurisdiction and meet Companys auto insurability requirements.

+ Verbal and written skills to communicate problems, status of work, daily reports, etc.

+ Math skills to analyze sample results.

+ Completion of Technician Training and Certification Program (TTCP) from the Texas State Highway and Transportation Department, or ability to complete within 6 months of employment

+ Completion of Troxler Manufacturing or equal radiation safety course to utilize nuclear gauges.

+ Work Schedule: 6am-6pm; M-F

+ Position may require protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs. Work responsibilities require out of town/overnight travel to Company offices, client offices and project locations.

+ $18-26 pay rate; BOE
