**Kelly Services** is currently seeking an experienced **Construction Specialist** to join a leading team in the **Orange, Texas** area! The Construction Specialist will coordinate, administer and follow construction projects issued by engineering, as well as monitor construction contractor performance to ensure excellence in safety, quality, schedule and cost results.


**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**


+ Conduct daily safety inspections.

+ Conduct BBP (safety) observations and document them in a database

+ Interact with contractors on safety policy and procedures.

+ Drive safety practices, processes and rules as required to meet injuries on all activities.

+ Plan with production and maintenance groups to schedule new construction activities in conjunction with routine Production and Maintenance operations.

+ Organize set-up and dismantle of temporary facilities for projects.

+ Coordinate project requirements with Construction Managers, Design Engineering personnel, Contractor Management, Superintendents, Foremen and Project Engineers and Project Managers.

+ Report on status of project in the assigned work to Construction Manager.

+ Administer contractor activities

+ Maintain detailed up-to-date project files.

+ Interface with the engineering and design groups on project details, field changes and interferences.

+ Work toward providing customer satisfaction with project results.

+ Facilitate excellent construction project results.


**QUALIFICATIONS**


+ Excellent knowledge of construction safety practices and willingness to enforce those practices.

+ Strong knowledge of project construction, material management, cost control, scheduling.

+ Familiar with a variety of construction fields concepts, practices and procedures.

+ Strong leadership ability

+ Excellent communication skills.

+ Demonstration of the ability to solve problems and make decisions at a task force level.

+ Planning and organizational talent.

+ Adaptable to changes.

+ Strong initiative and able to work with very little oversight.

+ Able to quickly learn and apply Engineering Pole line construction installation practices.

+ Able to quickly assimilate Energy systems electrical systems including switchgear, control systems, Electrical Distribution feeders & substations, Power plant buses & equipment locations.

+ Be able to read and understand complex drawings and interface with both contractors & Engineering on corrections and installations as a technical resource.

+ Facilitate field changes as required on not only electrical but civil work required to deviate from design because of unforeseen issues including getting drawings updated, cost estimates for the changes, ensuring adequate resources to complete within project deadlines.

+ Initiate, facilitate meetings as required between the company & contractors for safety orientations, construction issues, cost & budget issues, shutdown planning, pre-start-up audits, etc.

+ Able to quickly learn and apply electrical testing requirements and be able to analyze electrical test results to ensure contractors are held accountable for damage during installations.


**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**


+ High school diploma

+ 10 years as a construction specialist. Or 1 year or more to an advanced Construction Management Degree plus 2 years of experience


**Work schedule** : 4-10s unless job requires different coverage (need to remain flexible to meet Turnaround needs, etc.)
