Our client, a leading developer and manufacturer of innovative precision cutting and trimming tools for food processing and industrial applications, is currently hiring a Manufacturing Engineer.



This position is a Direct Hire.



In this position the Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for driving the adoption of a continuous improvement culture, with a focus on manufacturing and manufacturing related activities. This includes arranging and providing training, establishing standard practices, ensuring adoption and sustainment of continuous improvement activities, managing continuous improvement projects, and executing continuous improvement projects.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties & responsibilities of the Continuous Improvement Engineer include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:

Identify improvement opportunities using a data driven approach, formulate and execute projects to achieve improvements and sustain and measure the results.

Identify appropriate continuous improvement practices to and adapt and implement through training, projects and sustaining activities drawing from such knowledge areas as Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma. Maintaining a current understanding of continuous improvement practices and developments in the field is critical.

Work with design engineers and manufacturing engineers in the design, development and improvement of products and internal manufacturing and quality processes and development and utilization of suppliers to ensure all activities utilize continuous improvement tools to meet product requirements.

Instill a data driven approach to all design and manufacturing activities by developing skills in engineers, defining standards and guidelines, and ensuring appropriate data gathering and analysis methods are employed.

Assists the verification and validation of all new and improved processes including all supporting documentation, material and equipment, prior to implementation in manufacturing or outside vendors. Ensures all information is complete, thorough and accurate so that processes can be executed with minimal variation, interaction and support.

Gather and analyze data on manufactured and purchased parts and processes to verify and validate process control, identify opportunities for improvement and verify improvements.

Manages projects and project portfolio.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education: BS degree in mechanical, manufacturing or industrial engineering or engineering technology.

Minimum 3 years of continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably a machining environment.

Six Sigma training with attainment of Green Belt; Black Belt preferred.

Experience in manufacturing data collection and analysis including statistical methods, Design of Experiments, and the use of statistical software or Microsoft Excel for statistical analysis.

Ability to use and specify inspection equipment and procedures.

Experience with CAD software

Possesses ability to solve complex problems and complete multiple projects, using advanced problem-solving methods to make decisions.

Ability to manage projects with discipline and urgency. Project management experience preferred.



Must be willing to work flexible hours and shifts, including weekends, as needed by projects and work requirements. Up to 15% travel
