**Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager East Granby, Ct. 90K to 115K**

Our client an international group providing complex engineering solutions to some of the key names in the Aerospace and Defense market is looking to hire a Continuous Improvement Manager for their East Granby, Ct.

**Job Description**

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager's main task is to facilitate the growth of the East Granby business, by focusing on Lean Enterprise and Continuous Improvement Initiatives. In this role the CI Manager will coordinate and drive CI initiatives across operational and business processes between the EG sales, engineering, manufacturing departments and other facilities and group enterprises as appropriate. The CI Manager will be responsible to identify and work with internal customers to implement new Lean solutions to improve profitability, inventory turns, TAT and OTD. He or she will also be responsible for implanting and driving a Continuous Improvement Council that will be chaired by the GM. The CI Manager will plan and develop persuasive approaches and presentations that will convince internal customers to implement necessary changes to achieve the Company Annual Financial Plan. The CI Manager will have 2 direct reports and will be expected to lead VSM mapping and Kaizen Events as appropriate.

**Key Responsibilities**

+ Establish and review shop layout to determine optimum flow for model/mix of products

+ Conduct VSM events across all business processes

+ Drive and manage Kaizen improvement events and track recommendations to closure

+ Implement and drive consistent RCCA across the business

+ Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

+ Measure and monitor key metrics as required to drive and manage effectiveness of CI activity

+ Build relationships with the workforce and internal customers

+ Facilitate CI activity across the business to drive change

+ Ensure alignment of changes with regards to Export, EH&S and Quality requirements

+ Manage CI Council and drive change management process for the business

+ Manage existing CI team and associated activities

+ Work with outside Kaizen/Lean consultants and Corporate staff to drive CI events

+ Work with other EG management team members to respond to customer needs and requests

+ Work internal customers to identify annual planning activities with regards to CI initiatives

+ Work with key customers on Supplier initiatives as appropriate, ie UTC Supplier Gold

+ Manage key communication to workforce on CI improvements

+ Report to MB Senior Management as appropriate and directed on CI activities

+ Ensures adherence to applicable MB Aerospace internal, federal, state and local laws and regulations related to compliance and takes responsibility to ensure ongoing conformity with such rules and regulations

**Job Requirements**

+ Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline preferred and 10+ years in a the aerospace industry or general manufacturing

+ CI experience and operations experience with Prime and Sub-Tier Engine and Airframe Manufacturers, US Government Procurement and MRO Services to include General Electric, Pratt & Whitney, Pratt & Whitney Canada, Rolls-Royce, Honeywell, Solar Turbines, MHI, Snecma, MTU, Siemens, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Airbus, Pratt & Whitney Component Solutions, Vector Aerospace, and Standard Aero, or a sub-section of these companies, is preferred

+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

+ Ability to write reports and business correspondence

+ Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers

+ Strong background in manufacturing and be able to multitask

+ Excellent communication skills are needed; both verbal and written

+ Must have experience in facilitating/leading meetings and project management

+ The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office tools and be proficient in the use of lean tools

+ Six-Sigma Black Belt certification required

+ Must have a valid US Passport

+ Ability to travel up to 25% as needed
