**CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT SPECIALIST - CLEVELAND, OH**





Our client in the Cleveland, OH area, a manufacturer of a variety of outdoor products, is currently seeking a full-time, direct hire Continuous Improvement Specialist to join their team. In this role, this person will be a leader in developing and deploying Lean strategies and continuous improvement that reduces waste and cost. This individual will be responsible for leading practical application of Lean improvement tools and conducting Kaizen events in all areas of the facility. They will also lead any necessary training and deployment programs, and train all employees in Lean tools and subjects. Qualified and interested persons are invited to apply today!!





**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:**




+ Lead projects such as Kaizen events, business process improvements, and rapid improvement events to drive short??term and long??term improvements.

+ Determine the scope, objectives, metrics, cost, schedule, and necessary resource requirements of projects.

+ Conduct Lean training needs assessments and identify performance gaps.

+ Train all employees in Lean tools and subjects.

+ Mentor others on implementing and sustaining continuous improvement.

+ Conduct studies to recommend new operating procedures and process improvements.

+ Proactively involve all employees of the organization to gain their input and support. Generate employee enthusiasm and participation in Lean.

+ Document procedures and changes that result from Lean initiatives to ensure sustaining efforts.

+ Report quantifiable goals, objectives, schedules, and financial results of Lean initiatives to the Management team

+ Communicate Lean activities and measurements with the use of newsletters, project boards, and other tools.

+ Coordinate activities to celebrate Lean successes.

+ Investigates and performs root cause analysis with rapid improvement events (RIE)

+ Identify barriers/areas of improvements

+ Facilitate the development of lean management/employee culture

+ Maintain a lean implementation scorecard

+ Analyze material and information flows

+ Creates value stream mapping and standard work.

+ Conduct cost and benefit analysis, schedule and allocate resources.

+ Establish and conduct progress reviews once a month.

+ Reduce costs by analyzing major cost drivers

+ Work with management to report plans and overcome obstacles.

+ Monitor metrics and help root cause analysis for identified areas of concerns

+ Maintain and update F4T (Fit for Tomorrow) documents and provide regular updates

+ Identify opportunities for improvement that will meet or exceed customer requirements or customer satisfaction

+ Identify risks and impacts of an improvement as needed

+ Lead, train, and coach employees , team leaders and champions on the F4T process and how it is used in various circumstances.

+ Other duties as assigned by manager

+ Initiates action to prevent the occurrence of any quality deficiencies relating to the product, production process,

+ employees or other related department processes (quality system).

+ Identifies and communicates through the appropriate channels any problems relating to the quality system.

+ Initiates, recommends or provides solutions/improvements through designated channels.

+ Insures that the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected before continuing production.

+ Demonstrates initiative to learn new skills or expand job roles.

+ Completes work within established time frames.

+ Demonstrates support for and serves as an example of quality excellence.

+ Exhibits flexibility of work schedule to meet production schedule demands.





**JOB CHARACTERISTICS, REQUIREMENTS:**




+ **3 ?? 5 years experience** as **lean coordinator** / **process improvement specialist** .

+ **Bachelors degree** in either an **Engineering discipline** or **Business Management** / **Process Improvement**

+ Understand and believe in **Lean principles** .

+ **Lean certification** or willingness to achieve certification.

+ **Training experience** and comfortable giving presentations.

+ **Self??motivated** and ability to motivate others.

+ Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

+ Assertive with a **positive attitude** .

+ Microsoft Office applications including: spreadsheets, databases, and interpreting data for various reporting purposes

+ Demonstrates **effective communication skills**

+ Speech and hearing skills are required for communication with people.

+ Visual skills re required in preparing materials, word processing and proofreading

+ Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs.
