Our client is seeking a controls technician for their manufacturing plant I savannah, GA. Those with at least 5 years current experience in GMP environment is highly desired who has solid Allen Bradley PLC and HMI Skills. As a control tech you will be responsible for maintaining the programs for their controls systems. Writing code is not necessary but being able to update and modify is mandatory.


**Responsibilities:**




+ Control System Programming: SCADA, HMI, and PLC.

+ Configure and control Variable Frequency Drives.

+ Assist in the integration, startup and debugging of plant floor equipment.

+ Perform electrical diagnosis, as well as recommend and/or perform repair as needed.

+ Perform troubleshooting and repair the facility instrumentation and PLC control systems.

+ Provide programming support as needed, and on-call, for critical process failures.

+ Install and maintain data-acquisition and communications equipment for archival records.

+ Perform calibrations on wide range of temperature and pressure measuring equipment

+ Provide technical support in developing and improving processes.

+ Assist the maintenance department in preventative maintenance duties

+ Assist in the implementation of cost reduction projects involving automation.

+ Interfaces with production operators, maintenance, management, quality and engineering groups to achieve the best possible solutions to process control problems

+ Manage and maintain current controls network systems.

+ Keep accurate records of all hours logged, inventory parts used, and services performed in CMMS

+ Understand and apply the FDA 21-CFR standards for food manufacturing.



EXPERIENCE:




+ 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing

+ Experience in Rockwell (Allen Bradley) PLC/HMI programming. RS Logix, 5, 500, 5000

+ Familiarity with electrical schematics and process flow diagrams.

+ Ability to troubleshoot automation equipment.

+ Modify existing programs for improved plant operation.

+ Knowledge of variable speed drive configuration and programming.

+ Have strong computer skills including: MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

+ Familiarity with SCADA software such as FactoryTalk Historian and Vantage Point.

+ Familiarity with electrical systems, 3-phase motors, drives and pumps.
