CORE ANALYSIS TECHNICIAN
SPRING, TX
Our Fortune 500 customer has a long-term contract opening for a Research Analysis Technician at their campus located in Spring, TX.
MAIN FUNCTIONS
Working with units (oven or hood) and modifying them for oil and gas testing or transferring.
Fitting knowledge and proper use. Examples: Swagelok and Parker Autoclave (speed-bite) fittings.
Back pressure regulators, valves, pressure release valves requires a strong understanding while working under high pressure and temperatures above 200 F (occasionally).
Dual-piston high pressure metering pumps knowledge and previous experience
Working with cylinders at high pressure and temperatures for transfers and sample collecting.
Conduct absolute and two phase steady-state relative permeability experiments. Familiarity with equipment for core flooding applications including separators, syringe and screw pumps, density meters, and viscometers.
Routine core analysis testing and industry standards
Work with CO?
High temperature/high pressure experimentation.
Works with moderate work direction and is skilled and knowledgeable to the position.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
BS or MS in Chemistry or Petroleum related field.
Preferable experience in quality control systems.
Strong mechanical aptitude
Must be able to perform and have a deep knowledge and understanding for multiple PVT experiments in order to measure fluid properties such as viscosity, density, bubble points, and other various characteristics.
Need for people with 1-5 years, at minimum, work experience in a high pressure, high temperature lab. Prefer experience in SCAL or PVT
Conduct centrifuge experiments, including capillary pressure, relative permeability, and driving core samples
Strongly prefer experience in the following:
High Pressure
High Temperature
SCAL (Special Core Analysis)
Fitting knowledge
PVT (Reservoir Fluid Analysis)
Mechanically Inclined
Ability to troubleshoot equipment
Familiarity with equipment for core flooding applications including separators, syringe and screw pumps, density meters, and viscometers.
Experience with routine core analysis testing and industry standards
Familiar with CO?
At least one year experience with high temperature/high pressure experimentation.
Work Schedule: Standard - 5 days on / 2 days off - 5 days on / 2 days off
