Description and Requirements

The Paralegal will enhance attorney and legal staff effectiveness by supporting Legal Department operations; assist with departmental file and document management across all subject matter areas; completes special projects as assigned.  The position can be located in one of our offices in NJ, NC, or be remote.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Assist Contracts Core Team in the management, assignment, review and signature process for client and vendor contracts.
  • Assist Legal Department personnel with corporate entity management.
  • Assist with maintaining and troubleshooting the contract lifecycle management system.
  • Collaborate with other legal team members to efficiently use team resources, refer projects and inquiries to appropriate colleagues, and monitor, track, and advise on matters from initiation through conclusion.
  • Provide excellent client service and manage client expectations for Legal Department processes and deliverables.
  • Assist in issuance of litigation holds and client bankruptcy notices.
  • Assist with special projects assigned by the Senior Counsel related to the legal needs of the client teams supported by this function.
  • Collaborate with peers and serve a variety of other Legal Department functions as needed
  • Completes other tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors degree preferred or Associate's degree in a legal-related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Certificate from ABA approved paralegal education program preferred

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 2 years of wage-earning paralegal experience in a law firm or Corporate Legal Department required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, CRO or healthcare industry, preferred.
  • Exceptional people skills and ability to build positive relationships across the organization.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, review and draft complex documents.
  • Keen attention to detail and issue spotting.
  • Demonstrated ability to calmly manage concomitant deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve compliance from disparate client groups.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to prioritize, multitask, adapt and re-prioritize nimbly in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive company information.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment experiencing transformation and growth.
