We currently have an exciting contract opportunity for a Cost Accountant in Morgan Hill,CA.

The Senior Cost Accountant supports the Director of Accounting with a wide variety of functions which include transactional processing, financial analysis, annual budget development and monitoring, cost accounting and allocation, monthly forecasts, annual audit support and the implementation of financial and SOX compliance controls. S/He serves as a key resource for the organization and provides daily financial oversight to ensure that the financial records are complete, accurate and comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), policies and regulations, to facilitate solid decision support. The Senior Accountant also assists with the capacity of building efforts of the financial team. S/he will report to the Director of Accounting and proactively and cooperatively work with CSWI, SGInc and its managers to implement solutions as required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


+ Developing and maintain accounting policies, procedures and controls in accordance with sound accounting principles, applicable regulations and laws as well as best practices.
+ Organizational and program budget preparation and monitoring
+ Annual Financial year-end audits; periodic review of account and financial controls and processes for the entire organization for SOX compliance; coordinating and the preparation of required financial reports.
+ Inventory auditing, MAX close and reporting; the coordination of the end of week, month and year close;
+ Monthly analysis of financial performance; Assist with financial oversight for Smoke Guard
+ Prepare supporting schedules for specific general ledger accounts.
+ Analyzes, reconciles and reviews specified balance sheet accounts on monthly basis; performs financial analysis as appropriate to support risk assessment and inform decision-making.
+ Process and post journal entries in Great Plains and or Foundation, to ensure accuracy of the General Ledger;
+ Prepares periodical financial administrative reports; performs other duties as requested
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, Cost Accounting, CPA strongly preferred.
+ Five to eight years of related accounting experience and compliance experience. Solid understanding of accounting practices and principles
+ Proficient in Microsoft Offices Suite with a high degree of proficiency in Excel and Word
+ Knowledge of Oracle R12 and excel is MANDATORY!
