Description Our client, a top international Oil & Gas firm, is currently seeking a **Cost Analyst** for a 3 month temporary position with the opportunity for an extension. The position is located in Wayne, NJ.

By working for our client, you will be exposed to a large multinational company with revenues of over $390 billion dollars, work in a top 6 oil & gas company in the world, work in a fast paced corporate environment and be an integral part to the Finance team.

**PAY: $28.00 - $33.00/HOUR**

Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

Account post-mortem, forensics analysis, data mining, account reconciliation and financial accounting, with focus on continuous process improvement, productivity growth, and cost control.


+ Investigate and uncover invoicing errors
+ Reconcile general ledger accounts with complicated transactions
+ Investigate and reveal incorrect financial set ups
+ Help reduce the time spent on manual reconciliation by streamlining the process and create an easy to follow procedure with manuals and/or automated reports to eliminate human errors.
+ Act as internal audit liaison between GSC and finance department
+ Establish policies & procedures manual to standardize reconciliation of accounts
+ Develop systems based queries to better assist General Ledger department in reconciling accounts efficiently
+ Establish procedure to reconcile Accounts Receivable clearing account while implementing policies & procedures
+ Perform extensive analysis of Profit & Loss reports for month-end reporting
+ Compile data from various sources and prepare month-end summaries as needed
+ Research accounting issues to ensure compliance with GAAP
+ Ensure correct coding of invoices to appropriate department and location to post to the General Ledger
+ Participated in timely month and quarter-end close and prepare monthly and quarterly financial variance reports
+ Develop mechanism to forecast operating costs
Qualifications:


+ Bachelor’s degree
+ Extensive background in cost reporting and analysis.
+ Must be detailed oriented and accurate.
+ Accounting expertise, including experience with reconciliations
+ Logistics transportation cost experience a plus
+ Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, Word, Power Point, Visio, Crystal Reports, Fleet Focus, SAP, E-Accounting, Budget Book, Info-Edge and able to learn specialized software quickly.
