Customer Service / Order Entry (*PERMANENT-FULL TIME OPPORTUNITY!*)

Bay Shore, NY

Our valued client is a growing Bay Shore, NY based regional provider of medical supplies to patients in the home. The Company is opening up new offices in NY State, as well as has expanded into MA, CT, and RI. The Company specializes in selling three types of primarily prescription-based products: specialty wound care dressings, lymphedema pumps, and compression garments and stockings. The Company offers an attractive package of benefits including 401K, healthcare benefits, vacation and holiday days off, and compensation will depend on experience, but will be in the range of $18-22/hr. They are currently seeking two permanent Customer Service Representatives for their Bay Shore location, and the hours for these roles are 8:30am - 5pm.

Job Responsibilities:

- Process customer orders, requests and information updates into a patient order management system. Orders received via phone, fax and email.

- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and follow up on customer interactions.

- Resolve issues with customers in a professional and caring manner.

- Verify insurance coverage from Medicare and commercial insurance and facilitate with billing department on insurance authorizations.

- Work with warehouse staff to confirm order accuracy and details, and occasionally ship orders as needed.

- Interest and willingness to learn product lines to consult with customers and sales reps.

- Scan and file patient documentation as needed.

- Work with Warehouse staff to ensure appropriate levels of inventory are maintained.

- Work closely with Billing Department to process orders for satisfactory billing documentation and financial considerations.

- Ability to make outbound re-order sales calls to patients to check on their need for additional supplies.

- Support additional initiatives as assigned.

Job Requirements:

- 2+ years previous healthcare and medical industry customer service, order processing, and/or billing experience preferred.

- Durable medical equipment (DME) industry experience REQUIRED.

- Knowledge of Medicare in particular and its billing requirements for successful order processing is highly preferred, as well as knowledge of commercial insurance billing/order requirements.

- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook and general comfort with computer skills and programs.

- Experience working with patient and order management system a strong plus, specifically Fastrack.
