I have an exciting **Direct Hire** opportunity for a **Customer Support Engineer I** with a client located in **San Jose, CA** who is a global leader in the vacuum and abatement sector.


**Job Description:**


The Customer Support Engineer represents our Company as the first point of contact for our customers. The position requires both technical aptitude and the ability to work directly with customer stakeholders including technicians, engineers and managers. The Customer Support Engineer is responsible for maintaining equipment Uptime through the use of Best-Known Methods, supporting Scheduled and Unscheduled Maintenance activities and always keeping customer cryogenic equipment operating in an optimized condition.


We understand that cryogenic equipment experience may be hard to come by, that being said we are excited at the opportunity to bring the right individual up to speed and train on the application.


This is a new position needed to increase customer support bandwidth, the need is driven by the signing of a new 36-month on-site Service Agreement. This Customer Support Engineer will work closely with the existing field service engineering team in supporting customer owned cryogenic pumping equipment.


**Main Responsibilities**


+ Planned maintenance

+ Unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause determination and repairs

+ Customer consignment inventory management

+ Monitoring and optimization of system performance

+ 1st point of contact with customers for technical and logistics issues

+ Works closely with Sales and Customer Care stakeholders to ensure high customer satisfaction

+ The Customer Support Engineer will interact with customer representatives including technicians, engineers and managers

+ Participate in both CSS Team and Task Force initiatives as needed


**Education and experience levels**


+ BS in either Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred; minimum of a BS in Engineering

+ 0-3 years of experience

+ The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in physics.

+ Strong communication/people skills (ability to interact with customers)

+ Strong knowledge of Microsoft office applications including, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
