Job Title: Data Analyst / Data Query Specialist/ SQL Server BI

Contract Term of Assignment: 6 Months Location: Seattle, WA 98104

General Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled individual to collaborate with staff, consultants, and multiple vendors to support a large data migration project.

Essential Functions:

Help define data needed from a legacy fare collection system to be shared with a new system vendor (Systems Integrator)

Understand the new Systems Integrators future data stream

Support testing and data validation

Some support of data reporting

**Minimum Qualifications:**

Education & Experience: BS in computer science, information technology, business administration, engineering, or related field

**Required Knowledge of:**

Business intelligence, data management, data modeling, data warehousing, reporting and related activities

Methods and techniques for developing information systems solutions

SQL Server

Create and tune sophisticated SELECT queries

Experience with SQL DML (data manipulation language create, update, delete)

SQL DDL (data definition language -

o Create SQL store procedures and user- defined function

o Create table, indexes, schemas, etc

Data Modeling

o Relational (regular transaction-type databases)

Dimensional (data warehouse databases)


SQL Server Report Services

Power BI

Excel Power Query

**Required Skill in: Prior Experience**

Data migration experience preferred

Ad hoc querying

Report development

**Business Analysis**

Requirements gathering

Analysis of business systems & processes

**People Skills**

Demonstrating a positive customer service orientation with both internal and external clients

Collaborating and maintaining effective working relationships with other department staff, management, vendors, consultants, and outside agencies

Communications skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to triage/juggle multiple agenda items and work plans

Experience with large IT implementations, development life cycles, change management and IT processes

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel as a data source and reporting tool

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

Work is performed in a standard office environment.

Ability to work from home, connection to internet (during COVID-19 stay at home order)

Subject to standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting of objects up to 25 pounds.
