We are seeking a **Data Analyst** to work at the National Institutes of Health in **Rockville, MD** .


This is a long-term contract position which offers:

**TASKS/SERVICES** . The contractor shall:

(1) Implement data manipulation, cohort selection, variable derivation, and statistical analyses of epidemiologic data eg, questionnaire data

(2) Design and create quality-control metrics and reports

(3) Evaluate data quality through monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of data errors

(4) Provide final data sets for each project

(5) Perform statistical analysis for each project

(6) Construct systematic processes for data entry and quality assurance from project onset through analysis

(7) Perform data entry in support of a number of different systems and programs, both numerical and text format

(8) Organize, implement, maintain, and archive data

(9) Work with staff to gather and analyze information from users, primarily principal investigators PIs, needed for the development or modification of CRFs and accompanying interface relating to data collection, storage and access

(10) Coordinate and perform data entry

(11) Perform quality checks to ensure consistency, integrity and robustness of data

(12) Provide analysis, analytical modeling, and/or data visualization on data sets using relevant data tools

(13) Ensure that appropriate variables are captured in the constructed databases

(14) Format databases to allow merging of spreadsheets for statistical analyses and to optimize planned analyses

(15) Record data into a format appropriate for processing

(16) Apply statistical techniques to produce meaningful tables and graphs using appropriate software

(17) Provide support with data sharing, including public repositories

(18) Work with staff to prepare and standardize data for the database

(19) Perform routine and general data management

(20) Complete data analyses and draft manuscript from study results

(21) Create systematic documentation on reporting completeness, changes or errors

(22) Provide draft results and output for statistician review

(23) Maintain data for past and present studies

(24) Work with staff to curate data, retrieve records, generate reports and act as a liaison with academic and industry researchers

(25) Compile results of analysis projects into detailed reports

(26) Maintain databases for tracking and monitoring activities

(27) Manages storage and backup systems, including databases, data accuracy, and

(28) Develop and maintain data management and quality assurance / quality control procedures that improve the transparency, consistency, accuracy and comparability of data which supports the integrity of research

(29) Develop or implement computer programs to produce statistically appropriate tabulations and analyses

(30) 3Document methods and results sufficiently to ensure reproducibility by other researchers

(31) Maintain tracking spreadsheet of tasks completed for each project and time spent conducting each task

(32) Develop, maintain and update program database and spreadsheet

(33) Evaluate data utility in developing and executing long-range strategic plans

(34) Provide support for requests pertaining to new studies for electronic data capture or storage from investigators, review of current system or the creation and editing of CRFs and electronic capture tools interface

(35) Maintain databases and spreadsheets related to various data sharing activities

(36) Provide support for all data sharing related activities; create and maintain data access and data submission tracking systems and reports to be presented to senior program leadership

(37) Prepare databases and reports for staff; perform various tracking and analysis of branch data to include spreadsheet preparation and interpretation

(38) Design, develop and maintain databases, Listservs, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and other computer applications

(39) Establish procedure to address inconsistencies and track resolutions

(40) Develop data dictionaries for each database

(41) Enhance data management and document data sharing practices

(42) Apply database management concepts, principles and methods, including data management systems, storage capacity management, backup and recovery, data storage media and other tools used for data management

(43) Work with the data manager to provide data auditing services to studies that are active and ongoing as required to ensure that the quality of the data meets the study goals and quality standards

(44) Meet with data customers inside and outside the UDP to assess dataset requirements

(45) Formulate appropriate data auditing plan and strategy to provide services to studies that are active and ongoing as required to ensure that the quality of the data meets the study goals and quality standards

(46) Track and solve problems during the data entry and QA processes

(47) Provide description of procedures used to perform data quality assurance; update as procedures are developed

(48) Provide log and description of project-related data, associated data management problems that were solved and their resolution

(49) Allocate quality assurance resources to ensure data validity and fidelity

(50) Work with database users to identify and resolve cases of missing data

(51) Perform database analysis to look for incomplete data elements

(52) Identify possible trends and patterns in the data; communicate relevant findings that support problem solving and decision making

(53) Establish procedure to address inconsistencies and track resolutions

(54) Develop data dictionaries for each database

(55) Enhance data management and document data sharing practices

(56) Apply database management concepts, principles and methods, including data management systems, storage capacity management, backup and recovery, data storage media and other tools used for data management

(57) Work with the data manager to provide data auditing services to studies that are active and ongoing as required to ensure that the quality of the data meets the study goals and quality standards

(58) Meet with data customers inside and outside the UDP to assess dataset requirements

(59) Formulate appropriate data auditing plan and strategy to provide services to studies that are active and ongoing as required to ensure that the quality of the data meets the study goals and quality standards

(60) Prepare databases and reports for staff; perform various tracking and analysis of branch data to include spreadsheet preparation and interpretation

(61) Develops and designs databases for tracking and statistical purposes that incorporate multiple data fields required by scientists.


**REQUIREMENTS** . The contractor must have:

(1) Masters degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, data science, or a related field

(2) Three years of project experience

(3) Skills in: Cloud, Cancer biomedical research, Human subjects data, Data coding, Data cleaning

(4) Programming experience in R and SQL
