Kelly IT Resources is looking for a Data Analyst for a long-term contract located in San Francisco. The Data Analyst will join an existing analytics team and the primary duty will consist of performing data and business analytics (SQL), statistical programming (R / SAS / Python) and analyses, communicating with stakeholders and collaborators, and assuring the quality and integrity of the final products. Perform routine queries to ensure database quality and report on data quality issues to the analytic team. Communicate with the IRIS Registrys data vendor to address any data quality problems. Attend meetings, communicate and work daily with all members of the analytic team to develop feasibility and resource estimates for data analytic projects, and reports to the Manager of Analytics and Research.


+ Knowledge about data analytics, business analytics, statistics, public health research, and medical/clinical research study methodology

+ Knowledge and experience in data analysis, reporting and analytic software: SQL is essential (PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Redshift), along with SAS (and SAS/SQL), R, or Python/pandas

+ Knowledge about Linux command line

+ Knowledge and experience with version control such as git, Github, or Bitbucket

+ Knowledge of data visualization and presentation skills to effectively communicate data insights

+ Experience with relational databases and data lake environments, including AWS

+ Knowledge about clinical data registries

+ Knowledge about electronic health record databases and structures

+ Experience in facilitating and/or leading analytic projects, with project management skills

+ Experience with health services research or population health studies for data collection, analysis and interpretation

+ Excellent written communication skills

+ Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions

+ Interpersonal and managerial skills

+ Team management skills and ability to serve as leader for complex and cross-divisional efforts

+ Creative, analytic approach to issues

+ Clear expression of ideas and concerns orally and in writing

+ A. or B.S. required

+ Masters degree in public health, business analytics, data science, statistics, or epidemiology is a plus
