We are seeking a **Database Programmer** at the National Institutes of Health in **Bethesda, MD** .


This is a long-term contract position which offers:

- Vacation leave as well as 10 paid federal holidays and 401K plan.

**TASKS/SERVICES** . The contractor shall:


1. Work with staff to improve efficiency of the current data processing by creating new programming approaches.

2. Implement improvements to development activities to speed development of applications, databases, or software tools.

3. Develop and implement new or major revisions to applications, databases, or software tools.

4. Develop new code and refine/troubleshoot existing code.

5. Provide support to facility users and staff; resolve or escalate issues based on criteria.

6. Use advanced knowledge in machine learning, statistics, text mining, natural language processing, computational semantics, computer vision, and data science to develop creative solutions to complex real-world problems.

7. Use analytic methods to solve real world problems.

8. Apply a variety of statistical and computational techniques to solve complex analytic problems.

9. Serve as the application lead for applications.

10. Implement new software for data tracking and management including additions and updates to the database object model.

11. Develop scientific applications using R, Shiny and/or Python.

12. Deploy applications to systems; manage library dependencies.

13. Collaborate with staff to develop, test, refine and apply advanced statistical and computational methods.

14. Develop or utilize new or existing technology to develop dynamic web applications or software tools for bioinformatics application.

15. Develop new technologies and core labs support for detailed and consistent data analysis/manipulation and programming support for custom built scientific applications.

16. Develop scientific applications using R, Shiny and/or Python.

17. Deploy applications to systems; manage library dependencies.

18. Collaborate with staff to develop, test, refine and apply advanced statistical and computational methods.

19. Develop or utilize new or existing technology to develop dynamic web applications or software tools for bioinformatics application.

20. Develop new technologies and core labs support for detailed and consistent data analysis/manipulation and programming support for custom built scientific applications.

21. Develop scientific applications using R, Shiny and/or Python.

**REQUIREMENTS** . The contractor must have:


1. Bachelors in computer science or relevant fields

2. Obtained Coursera Machine Learning Certification

3. Experience with: Algorithm development, Database management, Data visualization, Data presentation, Machine learning

4. Experience with: Javascript, PyTorch, TABLEAU, Nodejs, Python, MySQL, HTML, Java, Git
