**Must Have Design Experience with INVENTOR**


**SUMMARY:**


The Design Engineer designs products based on the requirements of marketing and other internal stakeholders. Following the design phase, he/she coordinates and supports the design transfer to ensure the optimal implementation within a manufacturing environment. This position requires the individual to understand component, and sub-assembly development, while using project management related implementation processes. He/she, under the general guidance of a team leader along with internal and external stakeholders, shall develop and evaluate potential technical solutions to support the fabrication, manufacturing, and assembly of final products.


**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**


+ Creates designs and documentation for engineering projects based on conceptual requirements and specifications.

+ Conducts evaluations and takes measurements to obtain design data input and potential changes related to design for manufacturability, assembly and/or value-added engineering.

+ Generates documents, specifications, drawings, concept designs, and similar types for product design and redesign projects.

+ Assists in development and assembly of prototypes for testing and evaluation.

+ Works independently, communicates efficiently with stakeholders and interface positions in other departments of the company and carries out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

+ Works and communicates efficiently in an interdisciplinary team of design engineers, manufacturing engineers, electronic engineers, and software developers.

+ Performs general engineering reviews and checks of prints and designs.

+ Prepares engineering plans and studies.


**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:**


+ Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited university, or equivalent years of experience.

+ Proficient in working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) programs.

+ Proficient in working with AutoCAD / Inventor or other similar 3D programs **. Inventor experience is preferred.**

+ Proficient in drafting/detailing of 2D drawings and basic working knowledge of GD&T practices.

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate in English with internal and external clients.

+ Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and organized manner.

+ Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work in a timely manner.

+ Capable of multi-tasking numerous projects at once and working within deadlines.

+ Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with multi-discipline teams to achieve goals.

+ Ability to interpret specification and contract essentials.

+ Able to read and interpret plans and specifications.

+ Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude towards colleagues and all internal and external stakeholders and customers.

+ Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.

+ Preferably, candidate should have experience with the development of bills of material, product configurations, ERP documentation, and change notices.

+ Preferably, candidate should have knowledge of process equipment, design codes and requirements for regulated industries such as medical devices, defense, and aerospace.
