**Job Description**


Kelly Services is seeking a Development Coordinator for Case Western Reserve University. This position pays $15.67/ hour and is scheduled for 40 hours per week.


POSITION OBJECTIVE

Working under general direction and with a high level of personal initiative, the Development and External Relations Coordinator will carry out prospecting, fundraising, event and stewardship activities with a strategic and relationship-focused lens. The coordinator will have overall responsibility for the smooth functioning of the Institutional Advancement department and perform diverse duties of an administrative/ clerical nature requiring accuracy. Duties include serving as front line contact for the department, supporting the Associate Dean of Institutional Advancement and administer department finances.

The Office of Institutional Advancement at the Mandel School is a dynamic, ambitious team dedicated to engaging donors, alums, community partners and other stakeholders in promoting the school-s strengths to strengthen its financial future.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Provide strategic administration in all aspects of major gift fundraising, cultivation and stewardship of the dean-s advocates and visiting committee; donor relations; and the Mandel School and central development activities. Duties include administrative support for the Associate Dean, facilitating communications, organizing meeting spaces, and coordinating workflow. (25%)

2. Identify, qualify, prospect and cultivate alums and donors. Tasks include, but are not limited to: creating donor, alum and prospect lists for travel and other needs; creating priority and target lists based on giving history; assist in stewardship correspondence, developing and executing strategic engagement ideas for donors, potential donors and alums; creating and maintaining prospect and donor tracking reports; producing proposals, meeting and marketing materials for donor visits and leadership meetings; and handling gift processing and acknowledgements. (25%)

3. Act as lead contact to proactively plan and execute fundraising and donor events and initiatives. Serve as a representative of the department to alums and donors at events and other contact points. Proactively anticipate and make recommendations for engagement strategies before, during and after contact, and create engagement materials as needed to support those strategies. Negotiate with vendors, and creatively problem solve to keep events in-line with event goals and budget. (25%)

4. Serve as the department-s administrative problem-solver. Audit expense reports and process reimbursements, requisitions, and other required financial and budgetary requests; reconcile the major gifts budget monthly, forecast future expenditures and provide budget forecast recommendations. Track and order office supplies and maintain accurate documentation for budget reconciliation. Monitor expenses generated by department special events, travel costs including flights, hotels, car rentals, catering and equipment. Coordinate administrative functions between the central development office and the school. (24%)


**Requirements**


QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: 5 or more years of relevant experience in development or another field that requires relationship building and management, a strategic mindset, event planning and/or marketing and communications.

Education/Licensing: High school education required. Bachelor-s degree preferred.


REQUIRED SKILLS

1. Self-starter with a high level of initiative.

2. Good with teams and working autonomously with limited direction.

3. Proficiency with Advance or other prospect management platforms, Microsoft Suite, Google platforms.

4. Proficiency creating visual materials and messaging for meetings, presentations, and other activities.

5. Highly organized; you can see what may be falling through the cracks in the department. Ability to anticipate needs, errors and omissions before they occur.

6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to tailor your message to your audience. Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and customers face to face.

7. Professional demeanor with the ability to relate well with all levels of the university, community, and donors is necessary.

8. Must possess a high degree of judgment, maturity, professionalism and discretion.

9. Ability to meet with consistent attendance.

10. High degree of energy, creativity, flexibility, organization and interpersonal skill.
