**Development Manager, eCommerce**

**Location: Portland, OR working onsite**

**Full Time/Permanent/Direct Hire**

As a member of the Information Technology Team, the Development Manager, eCommerce is responsible for leading a team of internal and third-party Developers focused digital customer solutions such as web, eCommerce, customer integrations, and mobile solutions. Also, to provide Engineering leadership & technical design and implementation guidance for building digital platforms & APIs for accelerating Digital Strategy.

**Position description:**

Leads a team of developers focused on digital customer solutions such as web, eCommerce, customer integrations, and mobile solutions.

Provides technical oversight and serves as a mentor to the team. Ensuring designs and solutions align to our standards and implemented according to best practices.

Oversees the selection, quality and delivery of work executed by 3rd party developers.

Leads design and development of enhancements and new services across the digital customer solutions.

Develops and implement SDLC processes and standards (code reviews, coding standards, CI/CD)

Evaluates development requests to assess their validity, understand the business need, and provide project estimates.

Collaborate with team members to prioritize improvements to code quality and systems.

Performs some individual contributor work to stay in touch with the challenges facing others on the team.

Works with stakeholders and senior management to ensure that efforts are prioritized, and resources are allocated accordingly.

Works with other IT staff to develop technical specifications based upon functional specs as created.

Enforces typical systems development life cycle processes.

**Position requirements:**

Bachelors Degree (B.S.) in Computer Sciences, Engineering, or related field from a four-year college or university; At least 8 years of direct experience in web, eCommerce, and mobile development, including experience building large-scale web solutions; At least 3 years of experience in managing engineering teams in software-related application development using Agile principles; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Previous experience leading a blended team of web developers (internal and 3rd party), including a demonstrated track record of solving complex problems and motivating people to deliver their best. Must be a goal-oriented team builder and collaborator who creates excitement, fosters innovation and collaboration.

Previous experience using Elasticpath, Bloomreach CMS, or Apache is preferred; however, not required for this position.

Ability to review, evaluate, and provide feedback on full-stack web application code using modern frameworks.

Demonstrated knowledge of micro service architecture such as - .NET, Java, JavaScript, Ajax, REST/JSON, and MS-SQL/Postgres.

Organizational skills: track requests; prioritize complex tasks, manage to budget and/or timelines.

Problem-solving skills: define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and seek to rectify issues before they become problems.

Ability to determine the best communication method for the subject matter and audience, communicate complex ideas in simple terms using professional and concise language.

Ability to apply Human Resources management principles, including hiring, training, coaching, and evaluating employees.
