WCG-VeraSci combines innovative science and technology to advance and improve the clinical trials process for many leading pharmaceutical companies. Our flagship product, Pathway, is a fully customizable Electronic Clinical Outcomes Assessment (eCOA) platform designed to accommodate multiple cognitive, clinical, and functional outcome measures and provides streamlined data collection, improves the quality of test results, and enables seamless and secure data transfer from clinical sites to our cloud-hosted portal. 

As a DevOps Engineer at WCG VeraSci, you will help build the DevOps processes and automation that support these and other products and systems. Youll work with our Product Manager, QA staff, Release Management, development teams, and support teams to bring automation into the development and support processes. The DevOps mission is to increase the stability, scalability, quality, and ease with which VeraSci can develop and support our high-quality products. Our products run on iOS and Android devices and are built using the latest state of the art technologies including the Ionic Framework, TypeScript and Angular. Our products are backed by cloud-hosted REST APIs and a web portal built using Microsoft Azure, C# and ASP.Net WebApi.

Your Role:
  • Perform administration, configuration, and support of cloud-hosted environments in Microsoft Azure, including Web Apps, Cosmos DB, SQL Databases, and Storage services.
  • Create automation scripts & CI/CD pipelines for software applications and infrastructure.
  • Design, develop, test, implement, and optimize end-to-end DevOps solutions for VeraSci Products.
  • Perform manual processes to support build and release activities until those processes have been automated.
  • Support translation and localization of our products and managing software language resources and assets.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, business analysts, development teams, support staff and other internal stakeholders to fully understand product priorities, and requirements.
  • Review or help maintain documentation, including, but not limited to:
    • Automation Design specs
    • Software/System Architecture & Design specs
    • Development and technology standards and processes
  • Author, review and maintain SOPs, work instructions and guidelines for DevOps processes and technology.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an information technology role.
  • Minimum of 2 years of DevOps experience in an agile software development environment.
  • Experience developing CI/CD pipelines in a cloud environment.
  • Strong scripting skills in one or more of the following languages: PowerShell, Python, node.js.
  • Thorough understanding of git source control mechanics.
  • Experience building IaC (Infrastructure as Code).
  • Experience with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Azure CLI and YAML is a plus.
  • Experience with monitoring, alerting, and performance engineering is a plus.
  • Experience building iOS and Android mobile apps is a plus.
  • Experience with security monitoring and cloud security best practices is a plus.
  • Experience using Angular or another SPA framework is a plus.
  • Experience working in pharmaceuticals or another regulated industry a plus.
  • Knowledge C-DISC standards, GAMP, GCP or FDAs 21 CFR Part 11 or experience with clinical research data a plus.
