Description Exciting opportunity for a seasoned attorney with motion picture agreement experience!! Kelly Legal Managed Services (KLMS) is actively seeking a Director of Business Affairs & Legal Counsel with animation and film clearance experience to join our corporate client located in Burbank, CA, on a long-term contract basis.

Director of Business Affairs & Legal Counsel Responsibilities:


+ Negotiating, structuring, drafting and advising on deals relating to the development and production of animation content and related studio activities
+ Draft and negotiate film production agreements, including writers, voice talent, independent contractors, production services agreements, vendor agreements, carve-out agreements, NDAs, etc.
+ Supervise and negotiate film clearance / licensing
+ Manage copyright / trademark analysis
+ Manage guild / union issues
+ Familiarity with employment law issues
+ Manage and assist with negotiating and drafting technology agreements
+ Communicate directly with talent
+ Communicate directly with producers, directors, development executives, and department heads
+ Assist in preparation and presentation of internal training / educational presentations to studio management and employees
+ Negotiate and analyze business and legal issues and draft agreements relating to studio recruitment, outreach, talent development and operations
+ Negotiate and draft agreements on behalf of, and provide legal advice
+ Negotiate and analyze business and legal issues on behalf of the animation group
+ Negotiate and draft agreements including museum exhibition agreements, artwork loan agreements, publishing agreements Qualifications:


+ J.D. degree and actively barred in good standing
+ 3-5 years of legal experience
+ Experience with intellectual property matters, strongly preferred
+ Experience with animation & film clearance, strongly preferred
+ Prior animation experience strongly preferred or other entertainment, media, or new media related experience.

+ Superior analytical and writing skills and ability, together with strong business and financial acumen
+ Superior client communication skills
