Description and Requirements

The Director, Clinical Data Analyst will be responsible and accountable for the planning and execution of clinical trial performance data reviews, turning data into information, information into insight, and using the insight to support our clinical trial services.  This position will lead the development of our data analytics and insights services and hold the responsibility for much of the reporting derived from these insights. Responsible for supervising the planning, staffing and execution of projects in accordance with organizational Standard Operating Procedures and other formal guidance.


  • Oversee all activities and services managed by Clinical Data Analysts in support of Feasibility Managers responsibility for client delivery.

  • Drive the discovery of the information hidden in vast amounts of data (open source, licensed and proprietary) and help us make smarter decisions to deliver excellent services and products.

  • Manage and lead data and analytics projects, resources, technologies and information to support client and Company for project/service solutions.

  • Ensure the departmental role in maintaining established deadlines and service standards for clinical data activities. 

  • Principal subject matter expert in the development and delivery of clinical trial data services.

  • Lead team in the development of reports and dashboards for business units, internal and external clients.

  • Support the data-driven activities related to site identification, competitive landscape, enrollment modeling and customized analytics projects, as assigned, based on customer strategy.

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to identify and define requirements and objectives for product and services development initiatives.

  • This position will require the individual to be responsible for the management, direction, coordination, performance, and evaluation of an assigned team and staff. Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


  • Bachelors degree in health care, scientific or mathematical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education, skills and experience to perform the job.

  • Advanced degree desired.


  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in analyzing large data sets and the ability to effectively translate business requirements into technical/analytical solutions

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience analyzing large data sets, applying a variety of statistical 

  • Minimum of 8 years of prior supervisory experience demonstrating leadership expertise desired. 

  • Must have demonstrated advanced experience in clinical development with progressing experience with data analytics and/or data mining in developing feasibility and clinical trial development strategies.

  • Advanced experience, understanding, and demonstrated experience mining, manipulating and presenting of complex scientific data as it relates to clinical research.

  • Exposure to project management team environment required.  

  • Critical thinking and analytical skills required.  

  • Ability to work with flexibility and adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI, D3.js, GGplot, etc. preferred

  • Knowledge of financial management concepts.  

  • Excellent problem solving/decision making skills.

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to utilize technology and tools. 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills that allows for client communication.

  • Strong facilitation and coordination skills.  Must be able to positively influence teams to achieve goals. 

  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Attention to detail skills required. Must take pride in work product results; strive towards 100% accuracy in work processes. 

  • Knowledge of MS Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
