Mineola, Long Island, NY.  Winthrop-University Hospital is a 591-bed hospital, which serves as a clinical campus of Stony Brook University School of Medicine. Winthrop has an extensive group of owned and affiliated clinical practices across Long Island with a large patient population. Winthrop’s recently constructed 95,000 square foot Research and Academic Center houses basic science laboratories and an outpatient clinical research center, as well as adult/pediatric endocrine and diabetes services. The facility is designed to support translational studies and provides ample space for expansion of the entire research program. Currently, research is being carried out by basic and clinical investigators studying diabetes, renal, cardiovascular, metabolic bone and central nervous system conditions, oncology, trauma and prenatal factors in pregnancy outcomes. Winthrop has a strong set of clinical and educational programs and there are a growing number for collaborations between researchers and clinical faculty.

We currently have an exceptional leadership opportunity for a Director to be responsible for the overall direction and oversee daily operations, strategic planning and continued growth of the Center.  You will coordinate all parties included in clinical trials, including investigators, department Chiefs and Chairman, and all sponsoring organizations.   You will also spearhead marketing and development activities for the CRC; maintain a database of research interest and Clinical Trials (CT) experience of Winthrop researchers and investigators; as well as provide financial oversight of center (operating budgets, productivity and growth metrics and capital budgets).         

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree Nursing, required. Master's degree, preferred.

License: Current, valid NYS Registered Professional Nurse License or Relevant NYS department of Education license, required.

Experience: 6 - 8 years’ experience in Clinical Research / Trials field along with 3 - 5 years supervisory or management in research, required.

Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization, analytical, management, leadership, team building skills, required.  Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required. In-depth knowledge of budgets and financial planning, required. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements , required.
