Director of Employee Health Services needed in Fort Myers, FL - Wonderful opportunity!


+ Must have previous Employee Health/Occupational Health experience

+ This is an temporary full-time position for approximately 3 months

+ Pay Rate: $50 - $52/hr.

+ Hours: Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.


This position manages the patient experience. Responsible for overall effective performance of Employee Health practice including management of staff, workflow development, patient schedule management, provider and staff engagement, patient experience, financial performance and billing compliance. Develops practice operational plans and budgets (capital and operations) and implements performance improvement strategies within the practice. This position is responsible for the recruitment, development and supervision of staff and coordinating with the Medical Director the supervision of clinical staff. Ability to apply effective communication strategies to solve and facilitate simple and complex situations which enhance the culture and performance of the Employee Health Clinics. Performs all duties in a manner which promotes teamwork and reflects the mission and values of the company.


**Education:**


+ Bachelors degree in management or nursing.

+ Three years of management experience.

+ Experience managing an employee health department, preferably in a large Health Care System.

+ Masters degree preferred, ACMPE certification strongly preferred.


**Experience:**


+ Knowledge of ambulatory care operations; background in clinic procedures including schedule management, patient registration, use of electronic health record (Epic experience preferred), patient flow, billing and referrals and authorizations.

+ Clinical Expertise.

+ Computer proficiency including word-processing and spreadsheet applications and knowledge of electronic health record and billing software applications.

+ Excellent written and oral communications skills necessary.

+ Must have superb interpersonal and collaboration skills and be able to handle difficult conversations effectively.

+ Able to express opinions openly and honestly and provide feedback in a timely and productive manner.

+ Ability to examine and re-engineer operations and workflows and report operational metrics to staff and providers.

+ Must have experience with creating budgets and communicating financial information to staff and providers.

+ Demonstrates flexibility to accommodate changes in workload assignments and react calmly and effectively in stressful situations.

+ Ability to work independently and set priorities under minimal supervision.

+ Ability to work within the defined values, mission and vision of the organization.


**Key Relationships:**


+ Works closely with the System Leadership, LPG Leadership, the Chief Human Resources Officer, and the Employee Health Medical Director to develop and implement operational & clinical workflows.

+ Works closely with physician dyad partner to resolve issues within the practice.

+ Collaborates well with peers.


**Patient Experience/Operational Effectiveness:**


Responsible for operational leadership of clinic site(s). Manages the non-provider (non-clinical) staff at practice and coordinates supervision of health care / clinical provider staff with the Medical Director of Employee Health. Organizes day-to-day activities of the practice. Develops and refines processes to continually improve organizational culture, practice operations and staff workflows utilizing Lean leadership tools and principles.


Provides leadership guidance and training to staff in daily practice operations to develop staff and create environment of teamwork and empowerment among non-provider and clinical staff.


Promotes superior patient experience through the engagement of staff and providers in solving Operational problems. Maintains huddle board; works with staff to develop lead lean measures; communicates patient satisfaction results and creates a cadence measure of accountability. Develops and nurtures in staff a sense of shared ownership for the patient experience.


Performs active schedule management and manages patient access standards in accordance within accordance with company policies. Manages all patient access points, (phone/on-line/in-person) to established benchmarks.


Extremely proficient with all electronic health record workflows and reporting. Performs routine monitoring of operational metrics and makes adjustments as needed to maintain performance to benchmarks.


Conducts daily huddles and monthly staff meetings. Prepares agenda and forwards action plans and meeting notes toMedical Director.


Ensures comprehensive network integration by monitoring referral work queues and intervening when necessary to address service issues. Supports patient ability to obtain services within the system.


Participates in clinic based quality improvement projects by acting as a team leader. Works in collaboration with DNV team to ensure standards are upheld within facilities appropriate to DNV.


Ensures compliance and coordinates system wide vaccination, fit testing, pre-employment physicals and other related employment related activities.


Ensures a system of developing clinicians for future workforce through coordinated activities of internships and externships with colleges, universities and local healthcare academies.


**Financial Management:**


Monitors financial performance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. And reviews this information with the Medical Director monthly. Identifies opportunities for improvement and develops plans to implement necessary changes to meet budget. Ensures compliance to standards with focus on patient volume, staff productivity and provider coding.


Responsible for the management, ordering and inventory of clinic supplies, medication and equipment. Evaluates invoices for accuracy, codes and submits invoices to Central A/P on a timely basis.


Develops annual practice budget including operations and capital budgets.


Prepares all necessary information for consideration of positions to the appropriate approval committee.


Collaborates with Finance regarding all revenue cycle management functions. Ensures accurate and timely cash collection and billing functions are handled within the clinics including time of service collections; management of EPIC work queues and bank deposits.


Ensures all staff and facilities are appropriately licensed and licenses are kept current with appropriate regulatory bodies (CLIA, OSHA, RN, ARNP etc.).


**Employee Engagement:**


Recruits, interviews and hires staff based on optimal skills and cultural fit. Collaboratively interviews health care provider staff with Medical Director. Provides comprehensive on-boarding education and support to new team members.


Responsible for creating optimal work environment to allow for high employee engagement by sharing engagement results with staff, formulating action plan and routinely involving and communicating progress with staff.


Ensures scheduling of staff to promote clinical productivity as well as quality care, fiscal viability and to ensure appropriate patient access to the practice.


Performs evaluation process for staff within the clinics and compiles information in a timely manner. Provides on-going feedback to staff of performance throughout the year with a focus on mentoring and career development.


Manage and track vacation usage for staff and providers. Counsels employees in disciplinary matters and works collaboratively with Human Resources to address performance issues.


Assists with health care provider recruitment as needed. Maintains excellent relationship with all clinic health care providers by proactively communicating issues and responding to requests in a timely manner. Assists with provider schedules.


**Other Functions:**


1) Serves on committees and assists other managers as requested.


2) Attends meetings for the benefit of clinics operations or personal personnel management development and growth.


3) Maintains communication with Medical Director and System Director on weekly basis to review operational issues.
