The research and product development team has a strong background in engineering, testing, data acquisition, and rapid prototyping that allow them to quickly meet the needs of their partners, which include government, corporations, and universities all over the world.


We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead our product development team consisting of firmware, hardware, mechanical, and compliance engineers. This role will provide management, planning, and technical support throughout the development cycles for specification generation, design, qualification testing, and manufacturing release. The ideal person will also have a mature background in embedded coding in order to manage and set the direction for the expanding firmware requirements in our new products. This leadership position will help drive product development processes to establish consistency and efficiencies in our fast-growing company.

Relevant Experience

Must have strong managerial, planning, and written communication skills.

Have had 10+ years of product development experience, cradle to grave.

Design and development of software and firmware source code in C/C++, Embedded C, and other languages. Experience with ARM Cortex-M firmware development, software, database, wireless communications preferred.

Works closely with senior management and shares responsibility for the design and adherence to specification, cost, budget, and schedule goals.

Cross-organizational team development; providing team guidance to achieve engineering goals.

Problem solving and diagnosing issues of complex scope with design, field performance, and reliability in mind.

Integrates best practices including product roadmaps, technical design reviews, documentation, and test & validation methodologies.

Release of products to manufacturing with mature knowledge of Design for Manufacturability, product testing, and supply chain.

Financial acumen

Hiring, training, and developing personnel

Ability to exercise judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

Good verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work under pressure and time constraints maintains high standards of quality and productivity

Work Environment:

Standard office environment and fast-paced lab; utilizing standard office and lab equipment

Some travel needed for international and domestic support for remote sites, customers, and vendors.


10+ years of engineering design in a product development environment.


Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar. Masters degree preferred.
