**Summary:**



The Director of Maintenance and Reliability will report to the Chief Operating Officer. This position is a management position and will ensure that all programs, procedures, requirements, practices, and safety will be followed with no exceptions.



The Director of Maintenance and Reliability will work in conjunction with all departments and production to enhance the overall quality of the maintenance department. It is the responsibility of the Director of Maintenance and Reliability to ensure equipment conforms to specifications and that the PM system is followed and maintained. There will be other duties that may come up and they will in some instances required to implement and monitor those duties. This position may require working different hours at times including weekends.



**Duties will include but not limited to:**



Support the continual improvement program, Lean culture, as well as improving on the safety and customer regulatory compliance.



Direct the employees on a daily basis as well as assist in the maintaining of the facility, building, equipment, grounds, systems, inventory, work schedules, and PM schedules



Train maintenance employees in good manufacturing practice (GMPs), SOPs, safety, equipment, utilities, building, and maintenance tasks.



Promote better equipment performance for higher efficiency yields.



Conduct Maintenance Meetings and participate in Operations Meetings.



Review PM records with the Maintenance Coordinator and with the inventory coordinator on an as need basis to ensure frequencies are adjusted properly to keep equipment in the best condition possible & parts are available.



Be proactive to employee & department concerns from the equipment standpoint



Ensure regular/quarterly audits (Inventory and Safety) compliance is done in a timely fashion.



Ensure all programs are being followed and training provided to the employees when needed.



Review all measurable, help set expectations with the COO and Operations for the goals of each measure.



Help establish and maintain housekeeping in the maintenance department & sub-areas.



Ensure customer spec compliance.



**Training- Education & Experience**



Training for the position will consist of the same training that new hires receive i.e, HACCP, retort, safety, food safety, internal auditor, and better process school. (This training will take up to (3) months to sufficiently cover all the items listed above).



Education for this position is a 4-year degree (preferred) but will be evaluated on a case by case situation and some education with experience may be in lieu of.



Experience for this position will need to have at a minimum of 7 years in maintenance/manufacturing setting and working with production equipment. (Food is a plus) Problem-solving is a must along with corrective and preventive actions experience. Must have a Food safety (retort) certificate and be able to deal with day to day plant operation problems.
