**Summary:**


The Director of Operations leads all aspects of the sites operational activities, including but not limited to manufacturing, packaging, distribution, inventory control, and facility maintenance. The Director of Operations develops manufacturing plans, production schedules, and distribution schedules. The Director of Operations ensures all calibration and maintenance activities at the site are completed on time. Develops and maintains capital and operational budgets for the Operations Department. Enforce all aspects of cGMPs and environmental health and safety requirements. Lead and implement all continuous improvement activities at the site.


**Responsibilities:**


+ Develop manufacturing plans and production schedules that maximize efficient use of resources and minimize overhead costs.

+ Identify manufacturing and organizational procedures to be optimized and implement effective changes to increase overall profitability.

+ Develop safety protocols to ensure worker safety.

+ Manage and develop relationships with materials vendors.

+ Ensure timely and safe shipment procedures, especially during periods of heightened demand.

+ Manage the asset lifecycle for all plant equipment, building systems, process equipment, and utilities.

+ Support/lead startup and qualification for systems/equipment.

+ Lead continuous improvement for all site applications.

+ Create, review, and approve project documents, business process documents, schedules, reports, and work instructions.

+ Work in project team environment, along with other core team departments, including Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Engineering.

+ Responsible for drafting event reports, deviations, CAPAs and conducting investigations.

+ Manage operations to ensure that production, productivity, and financial targets and objectives are met.

+ Participate in the periodic review of the production schedule and optimize use of available capacity.

+ Comply with all cGMP, regulatory, and company policies and procedures

+ Manage and mentor the performance planning process for all direct reports.

+ Complete all required training activities (i.e., safety, cGMPs, technical skills, processing operations, etc.)


**Requirements/Qualifications** **:**


+ Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline and 8-10 years applicable experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.

+ Excellent written/spoken communication and interpersonal skills

+ Demonstrated ability to manage people and projects. Ability to work with internal teams, partners, suppliers, and customers.

+ Current understanding of FDA requirements and cGMPs for Manufacturing Parenteral Drug Products.

+ Detailed understanding of change management/change control, deviation and event management, and building monitoring systems.

+ Knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management and general finance and budgeting
