We are currently seeking a Diversity and Implicit Bias Specialist to work with the Office of Scientific Workforce Diversity at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.

This is a long-term contract position which offers:

**TASKS/SERVICES** : The contractor shall:

(1) Support implicit bias education research, education, and evaluation in support of the Office of Scientific Workforce Diversity (SWD) mission in collaboration with SWD staff, consultants, and partners.

(2) Work with the Chief Officer for Scientific Workforce Diversity (COSWD) and the Office of Behavioral and Social Science Research (OBSSR) to support the NIH Workplace Climate and Harassment Survey (WCHS), and other trans-NIH initiatives critical to the mission of the Scientific Workforce Diversity office.

(3) Collaborate with staff to coordinate, integrate and articulate long-range scientific goals and strategies for the Chief Officer for Scientific Workforce Diversity.

(4) Manage, design (as needed) future phases of the NIH Workplace Climate and Harassment Survey (WCHS), to include progress reports, communication of data results, and qualitative research to identify workplace climate improvement strategies, organizational development strategies:

(5) Develop and coordinate new strategies for recruitment, retention and outreach of candidates who enhance the diversity of the applicant pools for positions at NIH.

(6) Develop and coordinate the NIH Future Research Leaders Conference (FRLC); partner with the NIH Office of Intramural Research, Scientific Directors, FRLC Champions and other stakeholders to effectively design and implement conferences in future years.

(7) Analyze and produce reports and graphics of data collected through COSWD initiatives and programs.

(8) Conduct data analyses, synthesize and present results of data analyses, draw inferences, outline options, and make recommendations that bear on COSWD activities and policies.

(9) Identify, verify and evaluate quantitative, workforce related data needed to create reports, analyses or graphics.

(10) Conduct program and policy analysis for the Chief Officer for Scientific Workforce Diversity.

(11) Conduct literature searches and analyses of workforce training and development in the biomedical, clinical, behavioral and social sciences.

(12) Coordinate meetings and work groups related to the offices mission and strategic plan.

(13) Present project results to trans-NIH offices as well as at national conferences and meetings.

(14) Compose written narratives of proposed initiatives and prioritized projects.

(15) Produce position papers and staff documents, reports on current and planned activities,highlights of significant research findings in mission-related areas, and special reports on the activities of specific COSWD programs.

(16) Generate scientific and administrative reports in narrative, graphic, and tabular form.

(17) Assist in the preparation of scientific workforce diversity narratives for inclusion in COSWD web and print products.

(18) Generate reports on selected NIH accomplishments which may be in response to inquiries from other agency or department offices, Congress, or other high-level organization.

(19) Stay current of scientific literature, policy and legislation related to workforce diversity and inclusion

(20) Design, manage, and launch SWD research initiatives as determined by the COSWD; develop summary reports, presentations, publications, and products related to the research initiatives.

**REQUIREMENTS** : The contractor must have:

(1) Ph.D. in a scientific discipline relevant to behavioral or social science research.

(2) Minimum of six (6) years of experience independently conducting and evaluating social science and behavioral science research, which includes written reports and strong publication record from this research

(3) Experience conducting research in implicit bias, implicit attitudes, and social cognition

(4) Conducted implicit bias education, cultural sensitivity training, and executive trainings for large organizations or companies related to workplace environment

(5) Demonstrated leadership ability to address inclusion and diversity issues in the workplace or public setting

(6) Strong written communications and presentation skills

(7) Excellent analytical, planning, organizational and time management skills.

(8) Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
