**Job Description**


Driver-Mechanical Assembler

Pay rate depends on experience, skills and interview. Negotiable.


In this role, you would be a driver for the shipping department 50% of the time, and a mechanical assembler for overflow the other 50%. The client would help you maintain any licensing you'd require for the role as well.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


1. Material delivery and pick-up, both hazardous and inert, from customer locations utilizing company vans and trucks.

2. Safe Loading and unloading of explosive materials.

3. Properly identify and label material containers as legally required.

4. Maintain all shipping containers for safe and secure movement of material.

5. Maintain daily logs, time sheets, expense reports, dispatch and trip reports, as well as, vehicle inspection reports.

6. Complete pre and post trip vehicle inspections.

7. Must be able to operate, or be willing to train for Forklift certification.

8. Correctly manage and log material Net Explosive Weights (N.E.W.)

9. Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies and process, and acting in a safe manner at all times.

10. As a part-time Mechanical Assembler: Performs various production assembly operations on components and subassemblies.

11. Uses visual aids, drawings and verbal and written instruction to assemble, modify, re-work or re-assemble units. Receives detailed instruction on new assignments.

12. Install sub-assemblies.

13. Must display competent dexterity to insure safe handling of explosive devices.

14. All work is performed in explosive handling areas.

15. Perform other related duties as assigned.

16. If required, attend offsite training classes to maintain certification requirements. (i.e. JSTD)

17. OT required for Friday and Saturday as needed.


**Requirements**


Key Requirements:


1. Must have a Class C CDL with Hazmat endorsement, or the ability to acquire one soon after hire.

2. Must have and maintain a clean driving record.

3. Previous experience handling hazardous materials a plus.

4. Flexibility in schedule with the ability to travel regionally.

5. Ability to use a hands free mobile device.

6. Good communication skills and attention to detail.

7. Ability to work with minimum supervision.

8. Ability to read, understand and follow written instructions.

9. Must display competent dexterity to insure safe handling of explosive devices.

10. Basic hand tool knowledge (tweezers, pliers)

11. Basic measuring tool knowledge (calipers, micrometers)

12. Basic math skills.

13. Light assembly training.

14. Safe powder handling training.

15. Agility to use a microscope.

16. Work under direct supervision.

17. Weigh and press inert & energetic materials.

18. Set up and use analytical balance.

19. Perform inert assembly operations.

20. Minor cabling, potting, tinning and assembly work.

21. Set up and use powder press for pressing operation.

22. Some minor set-up capability for specific equipment.

23. May have some basic soldering experience.


Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent


Experience Required: 2 years related hazmat experience preferred
