Kelly Engineering has an amazing opportunity for a Dynamometer Technician in Bloomington, IN. Willing to train mechanically inclined individuals!


**Job Description:** This position will be responsible for contributing to test activities in an inertia dynamometer laboratory, preparing test equipment & test samples, and providing continuous improvement to the lab.


Specific Duties:

Prepare, photograph, and inspect test samples and test setups to be run on the inertia dynamometers

Build, tear down, and inspect various braking system components

Troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of test equipment

Interaction with technical personnel as well as internal & external customers

Assist with continuous improvement efforts in the lab by being a contributing team member


Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma. An Associates degree or technical certificate or equivalent from a college or technical school with related experience and/or training would be a plus.


Desired Skills:

Extensive hands-on technical experience working with various hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment, etc.

Ability to use precision instruments such as micrometers and surfometers to measure test specimens

High attention to detail and an ability to note changes in test results or test data over time

Willingness to work in a hands-on environment in a laboratory setting

Knowledge of braking & hydraulic systems and their components

Ability to read & understand engineering prints and schematics

Proficient Windows PC knowledge with the ability to use Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word; ability to learn new software programs in order to run the dynos is required

Strong electronics and/or electrical skills desired

Ability to verify/calibrate instruments such as pressure transducers, load cells, and thermocouples

Ability to work independently as a self-starter with minimal direction; occasional off-shift work needed to achieve deadlines & goals

Excellent communication skills, a willingness to learn, and the desire to be part of a team

Must meet attendance expectations
