**EHS and IH Safety Specialist**


Kelly has an exciting opportunity for two EHS roles for a company in St. Louis, MO. The EHS/IH specialists will lead all safety programs. This position is responsible for developing and implementing OSHAs safety programs. Under limited supervision, the EHS Specialist will assist in monitoring and coordinating environmental, health and safety programs including EHS inspections, accident investigations and EHS training. This position starts at $32+ per hour but final pay will depend on experience.


**Responsibilities**


+ Administer the Respiratory Protection Program, including respiratory protection selection and use guidelines based on industrial hygiene monitoring results and available respiratory protective equipment, medical clearance, respiratory fit testing and annual training.

+ Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring for production employees. Analyze results and provide recommendations to manufacturing for process improvements.

+ Develop the Emergency Response and Bloodborne Pathogen programs to include training and policy development/ review.

+ Conduct evaluation, selection and recommendations for personal protective equipment.

+ Administer the contractor safety training program to include the development and delivery of contractor training.

+ Investigate work-related incidents and coordinate employee care with Human Resources

+ Deliver New Employee EHS training.

+ Develop content and provide subject specific training to meet regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, training for Hazard Communication, Authorized Employee Lockout/Tagout; Confined Space Competent Person; Respiratory; Bloodborne Pathogen; First Aid; CPR and AED; Aerial Work Platform; Powered Industrial Truck; Qualified Electrical, and Arc Flash.

+ Lead internal EHS audits of facilities to verify compliance with all EHS regulations and company policy.

+ Review and update SOPs, policies and batch records to ensure they meet current standards and practices.

+ Assist supervisors in completing accident investigations to identify root causes and prevent reoccurrences.

+ Complete annual reviews of OSHA compliance programs as required by standards.

+ Review new equipment purchases from all safety aspects during project development state.

+ Perform follow-up to ensure completion of all corrective actions.

+ Verify compliance with EHS training requirements.

+ Manage the safety and environmental written programs and update as required

+ Lead the EHS committee team

+ Evaluate proposed regulations to determine the potential impact to the Company and keep management informed as potential regulations are nearing promulgation.

+ Perform other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and Company objectives.


**Qualifications**


+ **B** achelor's degree in Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Safety or related field; or equivalent combination of education and pertinent, progressive experience in pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry.

+ Five years' directly related experience in safety or related field; preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.

+ Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA and other pertinent regulations.

+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with an array of different departments and outside vendors.

+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

+ Ability to manage multiple projects with precision and accuracy

+ OSHA 30 Hr Training

+ Incident Investigation and root cause analysis

+ Strong leadership abilities and ability to be vocal and interactive with employees

+ Must possess good organizational skills as well as be knowledgeable with the Microsoft Office suite including MS Office, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
