**EHS Coordinator**

This position reports to the site EHS Manager. Coordinate and/or perform the site loss prevention and environmental compliance tasks in accordance with company, local, state, and federal regulations and standards. Administer and maintain permit requirements as required for air, water, and waste program compliance.


+ Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations

+ Keep up to date with new and revised regulations

+ Interpret these regulations as they apply to the site operations

+ Develop policies, procedures and work instructions as required

+ Conduct training on the proper use of policies and procedures

+ Ensure regular assessment of the performance and use of policies and procedures

+ Maintain the sites SDS software system for chemical approval process, proper chemical labeling, and environmental reporting compliance.

+ Coordinate or perform a variety of EHS activities to maintain compliance with various regulatory authorities (OSHA, EPA, DOT, LEPC, AHJ)

+ Assist the site EHS Manager with incident investigations

+ Conduct safety observations on a regular basis

+ Advise and coach leadership/employees on various EHS topics

+ Conduct EHS training for new employees and current employees

+ Document and maintain training records

+ Understand, implement, report, and monitor on EHS measures and metrics

+ Establish and maintain regulatory compliance metrics

+ Ability to research and write effective EHS procedures and policies

+ Maintain constructive relationship with internal and external customers


**Skills and Abilities**

+ Track record with the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective EHS systems and programs.

+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to lead and influence others.

+ Demonstrated results leading others in the accomplishment of EHS objectives.

+ Ability to work independently

**Education and Experience**

+ Bachelors degree in safety and or environmental engineering or a related field (required)

+ One or two years of related experience (required)

+ RCRA, DOT Shipper, HazMat, or HAZWOPER certifications (required)

+ Professional certifications (CHMM, OHST) a plus.

**Computer Skills**

+ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint and Access.


+ While performing the functions of this job, the employee is:

+ Regularly subjected to work near moving mechanical parts and to indoor temperature variations in a manufacturing environment.

+ Occasionally subjected to fumes or airborne particles, as well as toxic or caustic chemicals.

+ The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
