**Kelly Services is actively recruiting for a EHS Manager in Branchburg, NJ and Philadelphia, PA (3 days NJ, 2 days PA) for a Direct Hire role.**


Position Title: Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager


Location: Branchburg, NJ/Philadelphia, PA


Role:

The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager is responsible for managing the Environmental, Health, and Safety programs related to OSHA, EPA, and other state / local regulatory agencies for the company. In this role, the incumbent will provide company safety reports and statistics and provide leadership and development regarding environmental health and safety matters. They will maintain OSHA records and develop corrective action plans to prevent reoccurring problems.

The primary location will be the Branchburg, NJ site which is the companys new GMP manufacturing facility along with occasional travel to our sites in Philadelphia, PA.


Responsibilities:

Oversees Century Therapeutics EH&S objectives to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other state/local regulatory requirements

Provides EH&S guidance, defines programs, and conveys requirements regarding regulatory compliance as it relates to Employee Health and Safety.

Establishes and / or develops site operation specific Health and Safety programs as needed.

Maintains OSHA 300 logs and Injury / Illness metrics.

Act as a key member for the company Safety Steering Committee

Partners with other support functions (i.e., Quality, Facilities, Maintenance) to ensure objectives that overlap with EH&S are mutually considered.

Performs operational hazard assessments including evaluation of appropriate engineering controls and or protective equipment.

Identifies the hazards and incidents of non-compliance and recommends corrective action.

Trains personnel including all mandatory OSHA compliance training, first aid Responders, as well as necessary operational hazard specific training.

Supports Workers' Compensation claims management process

Conducts claims investigations and evaluates claims to identify significant hazards, loss trends; identifies and recommends preventative measures and corrective actions.

Acts as a Company representative to regulatory agencies, insurance auditors, contractors, and vendors on EHS related matters.

Partners and supports engineering initiatives to ensure EH&S considerations are included for all design, development and modification of processes, equipment, facilities, and work methods.

Maintains Safety Data Sheet (SDS) on hazardous materials used in the workplace as well as execute material and chemical screening and control guidelines.

Evaluates and purchases Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary.

Leads with the development of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for all sites.

Oversees local fire regulations and insurance requirements for sprinkler, hot work, and fire extinguisher programs.

Develops and coordinates emergency response & action planning for the site.

Coordinates the Safety Shoe and Prescription eye-wear programs.

Manages 3rd party EH&S staff, if applicable

Manages the company hearing conservation program to comply with all testing requirements.

Participates and helps lead the safety portion of all new hire orientation sessions.

Executes safety meetings as needed with upper management to ensure the company is effectively leading the safety efforts within all departments.

Champions efforts to foster a safety culture and employee engagement consistent with the corporate safety strategy.

Implements and maintains a site wide integrated business plan for safety, health and environmental programs.

Supports and attends Facilities and Operations meetings as needed.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Occupational Safety, Business or a related degree and 12+ years for BS, or 10+ years for MS, of relevant professional experience.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Safety related Biopharmaceutical GMP manufacturing environment required.

Previous experience and knowledge working with Federal, State, and local EHS regulations required.

Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred but not required.

Direct Biopharmaceutical manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

First aid training preferred but not required


Requirements:

At least 10+ years of relevant experience and at least 5 years in a GMP manufacturing environment required.

Proficient computer, arithmetic, and statistics knowledge is required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Robust knowledge of working in regulated (GMP) environments and strong working knowledge of expense and capital budgets and computerized work order systems required.

Able to work in a fast paced, ever changing work environment with the ability to analyze a situation and resolve it with internal or external resources independently.

Ability to respond to site emergencies off hours as required.

Strong ability to lead and motivate others with excellent interpersonal skills and outstanding customer service is required.

Strong technical problem-solving and decision-making skills
