**EHS Specialist, Santa Fe Springs, CA**



Fire Department Responsibilities:




+ Conduct weekly plant inspections Create macro checklist from (established) plant inspection matrix.

+ Inspect weekly to make sure that chemicals are being stored properly, including proper pallets and in proper areas (compatibility, containment). Report deficiencies to managers and supervisors.

+ Arrange for annual service inspection of fire extinguishers and training.

+ Keep Hazardous Waste Manifest updated weekly (inspection and documentation). Insure compliance with 90 day satellite and disposal Once per week Hazardous Waste inspection and log recording. Shipping and waste manifest compliance for DTSC.

+ Maintenance of Universal Waste area, storage and disposal of items.

+ Keep Spill Log sheet updated.

+ Schedule and manage annual CCFI personnel Fire Extinguisher Training.

+ Maintain and manage Quarterly fire sprinkler inspection by outside service.

+ Maintain and manage Annual Fire Door Drop Inspection.

+ Maintain and manage annual service inspection of Fire Hydrant.

+ Maintain and manage the 5 year Title 19 fire sprinkler& main drain inspections.



OSHA Responsibilities:




+ Organize and manage weekly Production safety meeting.

+ Be the leader and focal point of plant Safety Team. Manage records, communications.

+ Maintain PPE inventory: Gloves; Safety Glasses (Visitor and Plant Use); SWP / LOTO forms and supplies (with help from Maintenance Supervisor); Emergency Spill Shed Inventory take action on broken seals and investigate why seal broken (if no event reported); Dust Mask; Air purifying respirators. Manage program and audit physical practices (storage, usage charts) to insure compliance; Manage Production Safety Shoe program.

+ Maintain and manage pre-use forklift inspections are conducted and inspection sheets turned in weekly. Follow up on needed forklift repairs.

+ Manage and audit production area and warehouse eyewash and safety showers inspection program.

+ Manages and provides Production / Operations OSHA required annual training for required topics.

+ Participates in environmental, health and safety initiatives and trainings set forth by the company.



LA County Sanitation Responsibilities:




+ Weekly management verification of Waste Water discharge log (suggest three times per week).

+ Maintain and manage Waste Water pH Calibrations and Chart recordings.

+ Twice weekly check wastewater pH meter by sample box. Compare pH reading on chart vs paper.

+ Maintain and manage wastewater tank deep cleaning once a quarter. Residue is shipped as (hazardous) waste.

+ Audit pumping of pH of building waste water sump pits.

+ Investigate observed pH deviations of waste water discharges from production areas.

+ Arrange for repair of waste water pH detection equipment (chart recorder, pH probe, etc.) as needed.



FDA Responsibilities:

Maintain contract and paperwork records with worthless Pest Control company to insure monitoring is performed on monthly basis.



AQMD Responsibilities:




+ Make sure tank permit log sheet is being filled out properly by employees in building B, C & D. Verify that all log sheets are filled out properly (Tanks, Scrubber, Bag houses) two time per week.

+ Record pH of scrubber #1, 2 & 3 two times per week. Arrange for quarterly (and as needed) third party calibrations services to be performed on pH probes for the air scrubbers.

+ Post legible copies of permits by tanks, scrubbers and bag houses.
