We are proud to offer a temporary opportunity to work as an **EHS Specialist Medical Device Manufacturing** at a prestigious Fortune 500 company working in **San Francisco, CA.**

This is a 12-month contract position at 40 hours per week. Pay: $30.00/hr. Must be onsite.

**Job Description:**

Assist site Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) lead in addressing and documenting closure of findings from internal EHS audit gap analysis

+ Assist in developing the written elements of the regulatory compliance program by updating and publishing EHS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

+ Work with site EHS lead to identify, evaluate, prevent and control environmental, health and safety hazards at the site

+ Audit site activities and advise on actions necessary to comply with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies as well as internal company policies and guidelines

+ Assist departments in developing safe lab practices and standardizing throughout site

+ Assess regulatory training needs and develop and/or update training as necessary

+ Assist with improving sites recycling programs, including employee engagement campaign

+ Maintains elements of the safety policies and procedures in accordance with all local, state, federal regulations and company EHS program requirements

+ Assist with implementation of the employee safety training program, including developing and delivering training curricula and driving/tracking employee participation

+ Specifies the procurement and maintenance of safety equipment inventory of PPE and emergency response equipment

+ Assisting chemical inventory management

+ Responsible for helping promote a strong safety culture through outreach initiatives as well as employee and management engagement

+ Oversees JHA completion

+ Conducts area safety inspections

+ Conduct basic ergonomic assessment onsite

+ Maintains day-to-day EHS programs at the site, including new employee orientation, and regulatory record keeping and reporting

+ Tracking new hire trainings completion

+ Collects safety metrics and conducts trend analysis

+ Provides oversight to safety committee


+ Position requires a minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience (depending on education level as described below) including the implementation of facility-wide safety programs or equivalent.

+ Demonstrated ability to recognize, evaluate, and recommend controls for workplace hazards.

+ Demonstrated ability to organize and conduct training.

+ Knowledge of OSHA and Cal-OSHA health and safety regulations

+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills required

+ Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, and slide presentations required.

+ Excellent communication skills in a variety of medium (PowerPoint charts, written reports & memoranda, and verbal).


Requires a bachelors degree in safety engineering, environmental or industrial hygiene or comparable field and 1-3 years of experience described above, or a masters degree safety engineering, environmental or industrial hygiene
