Client in East Haven, CT is currently hiring an Electrical Controls Engineer, strong background in industrial, automated machinery systems.



The Controls Engineer will be responsible for follow-up design details and PLC/Robotic programming from NY Engineering group, for custom highly sophisticated and technologically advanced Industrial x-ray Inspection Systems.



Job Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Mechanical and System Engineering teams both in CT and NY to integrate and test electro-mechanical and/or material handling systems.

Work closely with the Mechanical and System Engineering teams both in CT and NY for the design of electro-mechanical and/or material handling systems.

Work with Production for system integration and test.

Provide support to Technical Writing and Project management Teams in the creation of technical documentation, system manuals, and customer facing documentation.

Generate, revise, and finalize BOMs.

Implement and revise as-needed, control system PLCs and robotics.

Finalize and revise documents using AutoCAD for Electrical.

Perform tasks in accordance and compliance with US and European standards, defined quality standards, all related Company design and safety standards.



Travel to customer sites as required in support of technical discussions, kick off meetings, oversee installations, or trouble shooting.

Initial one week to one-month cumulative familiarization, training and hands-on work at the NY facility.



Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.

4 plus years of experience as a Controls Engineer with a strong background in industrial, automated machinery systems.

Strong background in PLC/Robotic programming (For robotics, will send to training course if required).

Experience generating detailed electrical design drawings, schematics and related documentation for electro-mechanical systems incorporating the use of robotics, PLC, automation and/or part manipulation.

Proficient with AutoCAD for Electrical.

Knowledge of motor drives (Copley), PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens) and PC based control system.

Knowledge in control programming environments such as RSLogix, VB or other scripting languages.

Knowledge of CANbus, Controller Area Network (CAN) for real-time control system applications.

Knowledge of Pneumatic Actuator Control and Relay Logic.

Knowledge of Machine Guarding Systems and Power Distribution.

Prior experience in a QA controlled design environment. (ISO 9000, NQA-1, or similar).

Ability to work to schedules under time constraints in a dynamic environment.

Proactive, team player with established verbal and written communication skills.

Must be highly organized and self-motivated.
