**Kelly Engineering** is currently recruiting for a **(Contract) (Electrical Designer)** job located in **Columbus, OH** . Designs and develops complete systems schematics and electrical specifications for the manufacture and installation of factory automation projects. Determines design approaches and parameters. Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability by exercising judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Assist the Electrical Engineering Supervisor and Electrical Project Engineer with technical guidance of a team of electrical engineers to mentor and provide project related technical direction. Adhere to all established procedures as defined by Quality Procedures, Process Flows, Work Instructions, Safety Procedures, and the Employee Handbook.


**RESPONSIBILITIES:**


+ Conduct project team kickoff meetings.

+ Assist Electrical Project Engineer with creation of engineering tracking.

+ Maintain Functional Specification Document and project SharePoint.

+ Participate in weekly team engineering tracking updates.

+ Review team designs.

+ Ensure continuity with team designs.


**Project Organization:**


+ Participate with customer in design conceptualization.

+ Participate in periodic design reviews and post project review.

+ Formulate and produce complete electrical schematics including power distribution; motor control; safety; PLC, PC and/or robot I/O; analog I/O; fuse and wire sizing; and detail panel layouts.

+ Determine components and issue requisitions for purchases by analyzing equipment to establish operating data, conducting experimental tests and evaluating results.

+ Integrates (off-the-shelf) equipment and electronic components into systems including: network and serial communications, motion control equipment, analog instrumentation, vision inspection systems, electrical and ultrasonic welding equipment and other electrically controlled systems.

+ Works with Systems programmers to define the best sequencing, safety, HMI and overall process into a software structure.

+ Works with mechanical designers during mechanical design reviews to specify sensing devices suitable to applications on factory automation projects

+ Verifies I/O lists meet robot and PLC program requirements prior to issue to the floor

+ Generates I/O lists for use in the shop by programmers and technicians to assist in construction of equipment and systems


**EDUCATION:**


+ A BS degree in electrical design, electrical engineering or equivalent experience is required for this position.


**EXPERIENCE:**


+ Minimum of 5 years of electrical design experience is preferred. Must be task-driven, detail oriented individual, with the ability to work additional hours as needed. Critical thinking skills are a must. Must have ability to work with and communicate effectively at all levels within the company and with senior client officials
