Kelly Services is currently looking to hire an **Electrical Engineer - Controls** to work for one of our top Medical Device clients on-site in **St. Louis, MO** for a long-term contract position. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a renown company in an exciting industry. In this position, the Electrical Engineer will analyze and develop control systems around multiple motor and piezo drive systems.


**Responsibilities** **:**


+ Analyze, design, implement, document, model closed loop control systems to handle varying loads in motor and piezo driven systems

+ Perform deep analysis of electrical and software systems for stability under varying environmental and power conditions

+ Analyze, design, implement, document, model, mathematical solutions for control electronic subsystems

+ Assume a leadership role in the generation of product requirements documentation and design specifications.

+ Design, implement, document major systems and subassemblies in new product designs.

+ Ensure proper design documentation, and verification testing is performed.

+ Function as a technical leader/project manager in the use of outside design houses.

+ Coordinate all aspects of any outsourced design effort.

+ Guide others and work with Operations to ensure the product designs are capable of consistent and repeatable fabrication.

+ Oversee and coordinate efforts of others internal and external to assure appropriate hardware validation testing and field observation studies are performed.

+ Participate as a technical leader in project planning activities and project design reviews.

+ Investigate pertinent design methodologies, such as, ease of manufacture, design-to-process compatibility, and specification/cost trade-offs.

+ Investigate and stay current on applicable new technologies. Other duties as assigned.


**Requirements** **:**


+ Masters degree in Electrical Engineering.Equivalent experience may be considered.

+ Analytical skills including self-supported diverse simulation and modeling (e.g. Julia/DiffEQ, Matlab, spice).

+ Altium, Silicone Expert, some knowledge of OrCAD / Allegro.

+ Experience in Embedded systems (microcontrollers, FPGAs, analog and digital electronics).

+ At least ten years experience in the design and development medical products with emphasis on analysis and modeling of control algorithms in both hardware and software.


**Preferred:**


+ Proficiency in at least one core competency area critical to the surgical design group desirable.

+ Advanced technical degree preferred.
