Client, a state-of-the-art manufacture of electron microscopy equipment, is currently hiring an Electrical Engineer to work on New Product Integration. This position is a Direct Hire. They take the most powerful microscopy on earth and make it work even harder for clients!

The focus area of this position is on electronic system assembly and test. You will plan, direct, and coordinate the manufacturing process for all products. In addition, you will develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials/parts, tooling/production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

Essential Functions:

Participate in estimating production times and related costs.

Determine the operations required for assembly, and processing of products from drawings, schematics, specifications, and other engineering material.

Provide manufacturing standards and process specifications to assure achievement of manufacturing and cost objectives.

Represent manufacturing on new product introduction teams. Achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing tasks.

Serve as Technical lead/expert responsible for providing electronics support to final assembly and test.

Develop and/or review manufacturing test techniques/specification of final test for PCBs of varying levels of complexity.

Develop/document production build and test techniques.

Responsible for the transfer and release of new products into manufacturing (PN/BOM set-up).

Methodize the production of products to maximize quality and efficiency.

Implement engineering releases that includes managing the implementation process.

Create Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).

Manage manufacturing changes (ECO and MCO implementation).

Responsible for maintaining and creating process sheets, work instructions, and operational methods sheets.

Establish, maintain, and provide training to production staff on relative Gatan standard operating procedures.

Develop workflow diagrams for products to include QA check points.

Responsible for reducing manufacturing process lead times.

Implementation of cost savings initiatives.

Activities including root cause analysis, definition of corrective/preventive actions and verification of actions.

Translate technical data into a format and language suitable for production personnel.

CM/Supplier interaction and qualification.

Perform first part qualification/inspection on parts from cable assemblies to complex PCBs.

Ability to work in cross-functional teams consisting of Engineering, Production, and Quality.

Define special tooling requirements, holding fixtures, and test tooling as required.

Respond promptly to process problems by utilizing troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.

Manage special projects as assigned.

Maintain compliance with all applicable OSHA and EPA standards.

Maintain ISO Compliance.


Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics of varying degrees of complexity.

Ability to troubleshoot PCBs using common laboratory equipment, i.e., DMMs and oscilloscopes.

Familiarity of firmware and some knowledge of techniques to load onto a PCB.

Detailed knowledge in manufacturing processes utilizing Electronic Assemblies, PCBs construction design/Manufacturing, and testing of electronic products.

Electronic test software knowledge (LabVIEW).

Experience in product design, PCB layout, and test fixture design for electronic devices.

High degree of computer literacy.

Familiar with Six Sigma concepts.

Understand ERP (M2M) and PLM (Agile) systems software.

Strong facilitation and team building skills.

Must demonstrate core competencies of effective communication, listening and organizational skills.

Ability to utilize interpersonal communication techniques (written and verbal), work in a team environment with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles.

Familiar with demand pull Kanban systems and Lean Manufacturing techniques.

Ability to adapt to change.

Proficient using business software such as Microsoft Office.

Demonstrates a positive demeanor and is dependable.

Must be detail oriented with the ability to focus.

Advanced problem-solving skills.

3-5 years related experience strongly preferred.
