Kelly Services is currently looking to hire an **Electronic Components Engineer** to work for one of our top Medical Device clients on-site in **St. Louis, MO** for a Direct Hire position. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a renown company in an exciting industry.


The **Electronic Components Engineer** will act as the primary librarian over electrical components utilized in the design and maintenance of cataract and vitreoretinal ophthalmic surgical equipment. This person will be a contributing technical member on product design programs. Primary activities will include identifying alternate functionally equivalent components from multiple manufacturers that can be treated as identical substitutes, creating and maintaining schematic symbols and PCB foot prints within our CAD database Altium, maintaining our list of approved components contained in our Master Parts List (MPL) , and maintaining the life cycle status of components contained in the MPL Activities also include working with the design engineering staff on the selection of components for new designs, and providing input to the creation of technical documents including technical specifications.


KEY ACTIVITIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES


+ Maintain the Master Parts List (MPL), adding new components and tracking life cycle of existing MPL components

+ Lead component issue resolution by working with purchasing, manufacturing, quality, service, suppliers.

+ Work with lead engineers to specify new components along with recommending alternate components

+ Function as the Librarian in creating and maintaining schematic / PCB symbols in the Altium Designer / Concord Pro / Nexis software packages.

+ Review and address Product Change Notices PCNs from component manufacturers.

+ Perform component evaluation including lab testing of components/PCB assemblies/product and writing reports

+ Generate necessary documentation for implementing changes.

+ Ensure components are compliant to necessary environmental and safety standards, e.g., RoHS, REACH, UL, CE, CSA, Conflict Minerals, etc.

+ Participate in project planning activities and project design review meetings as required.

+ Create CAD models of components, assemblies, and create drawings using CAD design program as necessary Altium Designer.

+ Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:


+ Bachelor of science degree in Engineering, equivalent experience will be considered.

+ Must be able to read and understand schematics, datasheets, and technical documentation

+ At least 2 years experience in electronic design.


Preferred:


+ Advanced technical degree preferred.

+ Familiar with Silicon Expert for use in identifying upcoming component obsolescence and new component viability.

+ 2+ years of experience in electronic design of medical products.

+ 2+ years of experience in Altium Designer and Concord Pro.
