Looking for an exciting opportunity as an Electronics Engineering Technician in Sparta, IL?


Job Duties:


1. Maintains and repairs production lines and CNC mills and lathes.

2. Maintains system discipline within the team, 1) ensures quality process procedures, control plans, work instructions, and setup sheets are properly followed, and 2) leads by example and responds consistently when presented with a problem.

3. Utilizes technical skills effectively to:


+ Facilitate team problem solving.


Participate in continuous improvement activities.


Share knowledge and train other team members.


Work with other department groups on various projects such as prototyping, 8-D, etc.


1. Responds to breakdown requests by prioritizing workload to meet customers needs. Collaborates with shift leader(s) to prioritize requests.

2. Ensures requests for services are properly documented to allow efficient ongoing response to customers needs.

3. Communicates to supervisor and/or other shift leaders to ensure continuity of ongoing projects, repairs, and maintenance.

4. Contributes to and supports the existence of a positive work environment through personal involvement by communicating, interacting and behaving in a manner that promotes productive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and others with whom such relationships are important to the success of company operations.

5. Performs other duties as assigned.


Computer, Technical, mechanical, mathematical and/or scientific skills


+ Experience in troubleshooting and programming PLC's, CNCs and electronic equipment.

+ Demonstrated 480 electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems experience and troubleshooting skills.

+ Basic machining skills (milling, grinding and lathe), and welding skills.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and machine control schematics

+ Strong mechanical skills.

+ Experience with Manufacturing ERP systems (preferred) Must be willing to use.


**Communication Skills Verbal, Written, Training, Presenting, etc.**


+ Proficient oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate technical information that is relevant and easily understood.

+ Ability to facilitate problem solving meetings.

+ Ability to teach and train others.


Problem Solving skills and Decision Making Skills


Proficient investigative, analytical, problem solving, decision making and process analysis skills, demonstrating the ability to correctly identify problems/issues and their root causes and recommend solutions.


+ Ability to look at data, circumstances, and situation at hand and make a decision to solve the problem/issue, while ensuring all required processes, procedures and policies are followed.


Leadership Skills and/or Project Management Skills


Ability to provide guidance and or train peers if needed.


**Other**


Ability to collaborate/interact with customers and vendors on various issues/problems if needed.


+ Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities/tasks.

+ Ability to work well within a team, with other work areas, and participate in department projects


**Safety, Health and Environmental:**


Required to follow all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures to support facility compliance.


**Physical Demands:**


+ Stand, climb, bend kneel and stoop to perform repairs of all types on plant equipment for most of the 8-hour shift depending on assignments.

+ Use moderate physical effort in the use of hand tools, wrenches, etc.

+ Carry weights of up to 50 lbs occasionally for short periods.


**Work Environment:**


Working conditions in the plant include, hot temperatures in the summer and cool temperatures in the winter, and continuous noise. The office environment is well lighted, and climate controlled.
