Description Details

The Maintenance & Reliability Analyst is an individual contributor to the development, maintenance, enhancement, and deployment of new or existing business reporting, providing specialized technical and business knowledge to projects and programs, with special focus on Maintenance Excellence, systemization and optimization of program reporting strategies.

This role identifies and recommends business process and reporting efficiencies for the global Maintenance Excellence Program (MEP) that offer greatest business opportunity and drives data-driven decision making. This role partners with the program SMEs to identify scope, use cases, gather requirements, and support implementation of reporting systems or data models using agile methodology.

Default point of contact for the MEP team within the business, consolidating and recommending best approach to current reporting strategies and optimization to automate current practices.

Analyzes business processes and documents business reporting requirements; identifies alternative solutions, assesses feasibility and makes recommendations typically seeking to exploit and leverage new or existing technology components.

Supports and prepares business reporting documentation; performs data modeling within standard platforms; manages change; and leads, coordinates / performs testing, verification, and documentation of sustainable reporting practices.


Elicits and communicates the organizations business strategy; works directly with MEP business unit clients to understand specific business processes and needs and opportunities for improvement; identifies IT capabilities and information required to support the business processes and collaborates in the development of appropriate information management strategies, developing them as an integrated part of the business strategy.

Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

Identifies current and emerging business needs and evaluates alternative technology solutions using standard information systems methodologies and best practices. Proactively seek out strategic business opportunities with business unit executives for the application of new or existing technology capabilities.

Develops technology strategies that meet the requirements of the business. Identifies the business benefits of alternative strategies. Ensures compliance between business strategies and technology directions. Partners with BTS colleagues to identify opportunities across multiple platforms or where support is necessary.

Conducts training upon development of global dashboard and reporting tools. Identify process disconnects and translate them into improvement opportunities with cost savings or avoidance, productivity improvements, or revenue generating business benefits. Develops business relationships and integrates activities with others responsible for reporting to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts.

Allies with other MEP team members to remain current on project status, and inform customer management of progress; conversely, keeps MEP and Maximo managers aware of user issues and resolves conflicts.

Ability to support additional projects outside of reporting and automation scope as defined. International travel 10-15% to conduct data collection, business process mapping, DILO and 5S activity.

Support Management staff on developing and producing metric documents and presentations. Weekly and Monthly reporting tools, analysis and presentation creation required to support ongoing performance reporting to leadership.

Own and develop program Sharepoint documentation, support Reliability Engineer in system ownership of Reliability Centered Maintenance software, and provide support for other branding and platform management within the MEP team.

Accountable for the accuracy of the fit of the proposed solution to the business needs and the information upon which the business justification and prioritization decisions are made. Also accountable for communicating the business need and drivers to assure the scope of simplifying the reporting structure is met.


Bachelor's degree preferred plus 4 years experience within Maintenance, Reliability or Operational fields, most specifically, reporting, analysis and automation of business performance metrics and dashboarding.

Extensive knowledge in Power Bi required to develop full reporting capabilities.

Ability to create, modify and formulate Excel documents across multiple data sets.

Extensive ability to create and develop Powerpoint presentations for executive leadership.

Preferable experience in Maximo and Cognos platforms.

Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills.

Must be deliverables focused and detail oriented.

Must exhibit exceptional teamwork skills.

Must have a strong customer focus.


Years of experience/education and/or certifications required:

3+ years experience

2+ years maintenance and reliability experience

What are the top 3-5 skills requirements should this person have?

Power BI


Ability to create and understand business metrics

Ability Automate multiple system inputs and display in single system platform power bi business performance

Agility to support other ongoing projects as well

MS office, including PowerPoint.
