Kelly services is looking an Engineer for itss client which manufactures agricultural (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agricultural) , construction (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Construction) , and forestry (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forestry) machinery (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machinery) , diesel engines (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diesel\_engine) , drivetrains (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drivetrain) (axles, transmissions, gearboxes) used in heavy equipment, and lawn care equipment


Engineer, Supplier Development


Fargo ,ND (Could be remote for right level of experienced candidate)


18 Months contract with possible conversion


Pay rate 45-50$/hour


Works on supply development projects to develop a supply chain capable of providing increased flexibility and responsiveness, improved utilization of assets, improved quality and reduction of overall cost. Works with internal and external (supplier) leadership to manage and measure the business in order to reduce cost, improve margins and deliver quality products on time.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs and facilitates assessment of high level business processes with supplier executive leadership to identify where business needs and customer needs are not aligned and do not meet company performance expectations.

Maps and measures current supplier processes to collect and analyze baseline data and identify inefficiencies.

Performs facilitation activities at supplier sites to coach, teach and lead all supplier personnel to successfully execute and accomplish the deliverables defined in the process improvement charter.

Regularly communicates project updates and all improvements achieved by the supplier to enterprise and unit Supply Management leadership and personnel to maintain a positive and productive relationship between the supplier and the enterprise.

Conducts project review meetings with Deere enterprise, unit and supplier executive leadership upon project completion to document the supplier/enterprise new processes, improvements and cost savings to the enterprise and the supplier.

Creates a process improvement charter identifying activities the supplier will execute to reduce costs, improve quality and deliver products to the enterprise on time.


SKILLS:

Understanding of operations.

Understanding of the Order Fulfillment Process.

Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution.

Understanding of fundamental business principles and practices.

Knowledge and application of Supply Management Processes and tools.

Knowledge of advanced data gathering and analysis techniques, including statistical analysis

Understanding of and ability to explain different points of view (customer, JD design engineering, supplier manufacturing, supplier inspection/quality, JD supply management, JD program management, JD quality, JD manufacturing, etc.)

Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% domestic to supplier sites if required


Top Skills/Requirement:

- 3 Years + Electronics Manufacturing or Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering experience

- Six Sigma highly desired

- Quality Engineering skills
