**Position Summary**

This position is in the Product Management department within Research & Development which focuses on the next generation or versions of existing medical devices. You will work closely with the Engineers on various testing & documentation. Must be able and willing to collaborate with a team and provide excellent customer service and support to the customer.

The Engineering Assistant is responsible for functioning as an integral member of a development team developing, designing, validating & starting up world-class manufacturing & assembly operations that insure product quality, cost & performance objectives are met while concurrently providing design, quality, marketing & financial input.

**Responsibilities & Key Requirements**


+ Track issuance of PO’s, budget, schedule, and models that components are being made to
+ Work with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of components
+ Receive and inventory parts.
+ Track location of all components in-house and status of changes to the parts
+ Keep track of each version of component, what we have, what has been built and tested in what assembly, and where it was used. Each component used in each build should be traceable to a quote, a model or drawing, and a PO.
+ Organize and execute plan for metrology of all received components
+ Follow work instructions to build assembly prototypes
+ Support equipment installation
+ Coordinate and manage the transfer of production equipment and materials locally and including to Juarez, MX.
+ Coordinate assembly builds
+ Run gage R&R’s on assembly equipment
+ Conduct compression testing on automated test stand
+ Support equipment installation
+ Assist with packet documentation
+ Gather, input and report data using Excel spreadsheet
+ Document and translate basic statistics
+ Provide mechanical and electrical equipment troubleshooting
+ Tooling set-up
+ Fabricating/repairing machine components, tooling and fixtures utilizing machine shop equipment
**Recommended Skill Sets**


+ Proficient with purchasing systems and supplier management skills
+ Perform and understand technical writing, business systems and documentations
+ Ability to understand technical instructions
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
**Education Requirements**


+ Associate degree (preferably Mechanical Engineering) with some experience in respective field
**Additional Requirements**


+ Must be able to stand for extended periods of time in the lab
+ Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at desk
+ Must be able to lift 15-20 lbs.
+ Some local day travel may be required to visit suppliers
+ Some domestic and/or international overnight travel including Mexico may be required (up to 10%)
**Important information:** This position is recruited for by a remote Kelly office, not your local Kelly branch. Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
