**Kelly Engineering** is currently recruiting for a **(Direct Hire) (Engineering Manager)** job located in **Cranston, RI.** Manage a team of Engineers and support staff to define, evaluate and improve manufacturing processes. Operate the Manufacturing Engineering department as a support infrastructure for R&D and Engineering initiatives, manufacturing operations, and sales engineering and costing.

**Job Description:**

+ Work directly with Manufacturing, Materials, and Corporate Engineering departments in the establishment and support of strategic plans and objectives, as well as in the manage daily engineering activities.

+ Lead the creation and development of all aspects of a manufacturing engineering package, to include: BOM, work instructions, process improvements, tooling specifications, tooling design, cost standards, process standards and methodology.

+ Support the evolution of existing processes to improve productivity, process repeatability, cycle-time and cost. Lead manufacturing efforts to develop new or more economical manufacturing technologies.

+ Prepares on-time release of a manufacturing package to support production requirements.

+ Oversee the implementation of production safety standards and safety programs on new products. Maintain awareness or regulatory, OSHA and compliance issues.

+ Coordinate and commercialize the introduction of new products, machines and processes. Design training curriculum, safety and operating parameters for manufacturing personnel.

+ Develop control plans (when, what and where to make inspections and measurement) and process capability metrics (analysis of the manufacturing process capability to produce conforming product).

+ Oversee Product Project Management. Oversee the development and commercialization phases of the project by actively monitoring costs, schedules, quality and total development costs.

+ Seek manufacturing input during the design phase of new products.

+ Interface with and/or support Corporate Engineering department in effort to improve upon or execute new business initiatives.

+ Participate in projects that support the overall manufacturing strategy.

+ Manage multiple, parallel projects using formal project planning techniques as required to achieve a portfolio of new projects meeting customer requirements on time and on budget.

+ In conjunction with Corporate Engineering and Plant Management, analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, equipment layout, and workspace for maximum efficiency.

+ Interface regularly with customer and supplier teams, new product development teams and suppliers as required.


+ Bachelors Degree in an Engineering field required - BSME preferred

+ 5 to 7 years of engineering experience, with 2-3 years in a managerial role in a medical manufacturing or related industry a plus

+ Project management experience and demonstrated management skills required

+ Takes initiative

+ Manage own objectives and workloads.

+ Work with minimal supervision.

+ Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

**Supervisory Skills/Experience:**

+ Must exhibit excellent organizational and time management ability.

+ Must be able to effectively delegate the departments assignments to appropriate personnel.

+ Able to accept responsibility for departments results.

**Computer Skills:**

+ CAD skills required, AutoCAD & Solid Works experience preferred

+ Proficiency in MS Office suite, Internet, and e-mail.


+ Lean Manufacturing and or Six Sigma experience is desirable
