**Engineering Project Manager**

Location: Lafayette, CO.

Salary: $80k+/Year DOE.

**General Summary**

The **Project Manager** is the primary interface between the company and its customers for assigned projects. Key responsibilities include the planning, coordinating, directing, controlling and follow-up of customer design and fabrication projects. The Project Manager oversees all aspects of assigned projects and performs a variety of tasks to include establishing deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring progress of projects, and preparing project status reports for upper management and customers.

**Essential Responsibilities**

1. Serves as the primary interface between the company and its customers for assigned projects and responds to customer inquiries in a timely manner. Provides sales information, project status updates and reports,

coordinates technical and commercial meetings and conference calls, responds to project concerns and complaints, and coordinates regular project meetings with the team. Creates and maintains production orders including project documentation and communications.

2. Reviews and negotiates customer contracts, quotes and project changes based on customer requirements and specifications, and in accordance with company product line and custom abilities to assure that company profitability is maintained.

3. Maintains and distributes project budgets and assists with budget-related decisions.

4. Determines, establishes, and accurately communicates scheduling timelines and testing requirements for assigned projects to team and customer, ensuring orders are completed on schedule and within project budget.

5. Assembles, reviews, and submits supporting documentation necessary for project invoices. Initiates appropriate follow-up to ensure customer invoices are paid timely, including verbal and/or written customer contact, when necessary.

6. Coordinate shipping activities for assigned projects/orders to include determination of shipping requirements, packing list creation, and verifying that shipments are properly packaged (when

appropriate); ensuring completed projects are accurately shipped and delivered in accordance with the

order requirements and deadlines.

7. Consistently provides excellent customer service in all situations. Accurately and appropriately communicates with internal and external customers, avoiding complaints and ensuring opportunities for repeat work.

8. Performs all other duties as assigned.

**General Responsibilities**

1. Performs, as directed, safety compliance and uses Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as needed, and maintains a safe working environment.

2. Adheres to all company policies and procedures on a routine basis. Consistently reports to work as scheduled and on time, avoiding unnecessary and unscheduled absences.

3. Responds promptly, sincerely, and respectfully to customers and coworkers needs, requests and concerns via all communication forms using easily understood language.

4. Maintains positive working relationships as a team player through problem solving issues, speaking positively about others, and listening attentively.

5. Identifies, evaluates, recommends and/or implements process improvement opportunities that include the objective(s) of reducing costs, increasing efficiencies and/or increasing productivity. Eliminates and avoids unnecessary processes and procedures that impede these objectives on a company-wide


**Knowledge and Skills**

Candidate must have exceptional oral and written communication; attention to detail and ability to multi-task; possess strong organizational skills. Capacity to establish and maintain constructive business relationships with internal and external customers, while maintaining integrity and confidentiality, is

required. Aptitude to research, analyze and successfully resolve a broad spectrum of issues. Must be a positive team player, with the ability to manage project time constraints and handle multiple projects at once. Must have experience using general office equipment and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Outlook, Access, Excel, and Word. Demonstrated understanding of the project management process is required. Must be able to read, write, and clearly speak and understand English.


Bachelors Degree in Business Management is preferred.


Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred, but not required.

**Work Experience**

A minimum of three (3) years of recent and related experience is required.

**Working Conditions**

Position is in an office environment. Frequent physical demands include sitting for extended periods; entering and manipulating data on a workstation computer; standing; walking; bending; climbing stairs; stooping to remove/replace files; eye-hand coordination; lifting; pulling; pushing; upper body twisting while

handling supplies and equipment; and using keyboard for PC and word processing needs.

Equipment frequently utilized may include computers, printers, phones, headsets, pens/pencils, copiers, scanners, fax machines, calculators, and audio/visual devices.

Frequent requirements may include communication by seeing, talking, listening, and writing/typing; participating in team/management meetings; and working

autonomously, in teams, or one-on-one, with other staff/customers/vendors for extended periods.

Occasional requirements may include using hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, and lifting/moving up to 25 pounds.

Incumbent may be scheduled to work an alternate schedule and/or overtime to accommodate essential business needs; routine travel by foot or automobile to alternate work/meeting locations may be required, possibly during inclement weather.

**Environmental Conditions**

Inside and outside environmental conditions may include:

- Casual office environment with time of each day spent in interaction with management/staff, in addition to planning and working autonomously.

- Requires teamwork and the ability to handle multiple interruptions; frequently variable-paced; variable pressure, occasionally fast-paced; high-pressure.

- Occasionally, while working in a manufacturing/fabrication shop environment, potential hazards may result from exposures to noise, mechanical and electrical machinery, welders, hand and electrical tools, radiation, fumes, unpleasant odors, chemicals, dust, debris, and extreme hot and cold temperatures.

- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided to each employee when needed as determined by policy or conditions.

- Utilization of PPE is mandatory, when required.

- There are approximately 80 employees in the worksite.
