**Job Title:** Enrollment Specialist I

**Job Profile Summary**

Unum is looking for an Erollment Specialist. This position is responsible for determining employee eligibility for product coverages, processing all enrollment and evidence of insurance (EOI) activities for customers (paper, excel, data feeds, employee level changes, etc.) and screening of requests for compliance with contractual provisions, administrative and risk guidelines. All enrollment and evidence of insurability activity to be processed accurately and within customer service metrics goals with primary focus on privacy of employee data. This position will manage a block of business and will partner closely with Client Services and EOI Operations (MUW) to ensure the timely and accurate processing of all enrollment and evidence of insurability activity.

**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**

+ Screen customer requests for all enrollment and evidence of insurability methods to ensure compliance with contractual provisions and risk rules.

+ Prepare/format and process electronic enrollments and evidence of insurability to ensure coding to administrative system.

+ Attain individual/team productivity goals without compromising accuracy, service, or the privacy of our customers

+ Manage daily work activity and take action as appropriate to meet customer service metrics.

+ Operate as a team player (e.g. provide and receive feedback, deal with conflict, support others, arrange for or provide back-up support as necessary).

+ Research and resolve customer inquiries which may include audit of employee coverages and eligibility criteria.

+ Partner with external and internal resources to ensure a successful implementation of enrollment strategy for each customer.

+ Educate internal partners and customers on expectations for data delivery, procedures, workflow and customer centric metrics.

+ Responsible for developing partnerships and working effectively and collaboratively with all customer service partners regarding enrollment and/or EOI issues.

+ Identify and communicate administrative trends and collaborate as needed to resolve service issues and find ways to improve the customer experience and make it easier for our customers to do business with Unum.

+ Evaluate and resolve service issues with an appropriate sense of urgency relying on exceptional communication skills, strong product and process knowledge.

+ Performs situational business analysis/problem solving as it relates to the enrollment strategy and EE coverage

+ Represents functional area on projects to effectively communicate business needs.

+ Assists in development and/or maintenance of training/user/system manuals.

+ Process applications in product lines utilizing multiple systems

+ Provide support to Medical Underwriters during the evidence of insurability process.

+ May perform other duties as assigned.

**Job Specifications**

+ Four year College degree strongly preferred or equivalent, relevant business experience required.

+ Demonstrated strength in time management skills; ability to prioritize.

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy with exceptional organizational skills.

+ Strong knowledge of functional area, processes and supporting systems including an understanding of how their functions relate to other operational processes.

+ Proven Technical expertise knowledge of various products, systems and processes

+ Demonstrated strong customer service focus balanced with production orientation (coding accuracy and speed)

+ Strong communication skills, both oral and written

+ Strong critical thinking aptitude and fast learner

+ Strong excel and PC skills

+ Proven ability to function effectively in a high production environment with deadlines

+ Displays team-oriented skills.

+ Demonstrated leadership potential

+ Ability to embrace and lead change to improve process efficiency and service.


Position is remote

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm CST
