**Overview:** Kelly Services is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our clients team as an Environmental Site Assessor. This is a direct hire position based in Livonia, MI with a leader in providing environmental services to a wide variety of clients.


An Environmental Site Assessor position is responsible for all aspects of project management and project execution related to the environmental due diligence services:


1. Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA)

2. Environmental Desktop Reviews / Records Search with Risk Assessment (RSRA)

3. Project File Reviews

4. Due Diligence Peer Reviews

5. Phase II Subsurface Investigations


The Environmental Site Assessor is expected to generate and maintain a personal client base with assistance from senior personnel. This position will work directly with a Senior Environmental Site Assessor and/or Practice Leader on individual projects, project resources, and subcontractors in the context of managing projects; under the general supervision of the Service Area Principal.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


+ Generate proposals, budgets, and scopes of work for environmental due diligence assessments.

+ Understand and perform all tasks necessary to complete a projects scope of work.

+ Coordinate, schedule, and perform site inspections for environmental due diligence assessments. Utilize technology to upload site inspection photos and notes from the field.

+ Identify work opportunities with existing and potential clients and make efforts to secure the work through networking and the referral process.

+ Through site inspections and site contact interviews, identify environmental conditions requiring further investigation

+ Identify inter-department opportunities through execution of environmental due diligence projects

+ Recognize and execute opportunities to expand core client relationships

+ Work with a team of technical report writers to download site inspection information and photographs, complete applicable sections of environmental due diligence reports, and be available as a resource to answer site-specific questions for reporting purposes.

+ Preparation and technical review of written reports prior to Senior Level / EP review.

+ Evaluate, select, and schedule subcontractors.

+ Provide constant contact and project updates to clients throughout the lifecycle of a project.

+ Utilize the Transaction Service Area Principal, Transaction Practice Leader, and Senior Environmental Site Assessor as a technical resource, especially in the capacity to evaluate site concerns and scope, execute, and final review of Phase I ESA / Phase II Subsurface Investigation projects.

+ Prepare project descriptions of successfully completed projects and update August Mack resume for marketing purposes.

+ Work with and provide technical assistance to the Marketing Department and Program Development Managers to increase client base and secure project opportunities

+ Complete projects under budget and oversee and direct administration of the projects.


ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:


Requires 2 years of project experience in environmental due diligence consulting and a bachelors degree in geology, environmental science, engineering or a related science field. Knowledge of environmental permit regulations and strong computer and verbal/written communication skills are a must. Business development experience, Health & Safety experience, and knowledge of state regulations is a plus. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


This classification requires the use of a personal or company vehicle on company business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid drivers license, and have an acceptable driving record.


This classification requires travel to various client locations. Travel typically involves day trips within the state or neighboring states, resulting in longer workdays; and may include extended and/or further travel, resulting in multiple days and overnights. Long-distance drives and air travel may be required.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:


Knowledge of:


+ The principals, practices, & techniques of engineering, geology, or chemistry.

+ Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) Standard ASTM E 1527

+ Phase II Environmental Site Assessment Standard ASTM E 1903

+ Geologic setting and contaminant transport.

+ Regulatory cleanup programs and guidance.

+ Waste regulations.

+ Hazards inherent to environmental work and related safety measures.

+ The principals, practices, & techniques of environmental investigations including soil and groundwater sampling and analysis.


Skill in:


+ Identifying recognized environmental conditions at various sites.

+ Scoping Phase II Site Assessments.

+ Interpreting laboratory results.


Ability to:


+ Apply regulatory programs to specific project situations.

+ Prioritize workload and multitask.

+ Document and organize while working on multiple projects.

+ Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

+ Work in small, cramped areas.

+ Travel across rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces to access equipment.

+ Climb ladders or steps where equipment is located, to reach objects on shelves, or to monitor machinery and equipment.

+ Move heavy objects (50 pounds or more) short distances (20 feet or less).

+ Bend or stoop repeatedly or continually over time to make adjustments to equipment.

+ Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.

+ Work closely and manage others in a team environment.

+ Maintain a working relationship with clients.
