We are currently seeking an Epidemiology Program Manager Tobacco Use & Health Measures to work with the National Institutes on Drug Abuse in Rockville, MD.

**TASKS/SERVICES** : The contractor shall:

(1) Provide epidemiologic leadership and technical expertise for the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH) Study at https://pathstudyinfo.nih.gov/UI/HomeMobile.aspx Team at National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), including but not limited to study design, methods and collection of questionnaire data, health measures, and biological samples, handling, processing and analyzing biomarker data, and statistical and analytic research methods pertaining to biomarker of tobacco exposure and/or harm.

(2) Participate in and contribute to different aspects of the PATH Study Team through study planning, decision-making, problem-solving and strategic analysis.

(3) Provide leadership on behalf of the NIDA PATH Study Team on data analyses and analytical reports and manuscripts, particularly those related to biomarkers and health measures.

(4) Provide leadership on behalf of the NIDA PATH Study Team on appointed workgroups; coordinate and review from multiple team members and collaborators; lead discussions and revisions; facilitate decision-making for the study; prepare workgroup material reviews and presentations.

(5) Analyze, interpret, communicate and document epidemiologic data and results.

(6) Perform first pass reading, tracking and evaluation of deliverables; coordinate materials and background information for advisory board meetings; prepare and distribute briefing packets for staff.

(7) Communicate research findings; disseminate public information; respond to relevant inquiries.

(8) Advise senior project staff on scientific progress and study decisions

(9) Conduct relevant literature reviews and collaborate on relevant research publications.

(10) Prepare summaries and reports for staff review.

(11) Facilitate communication and collaborative efforts with other NIH Institutes and Department agencies in assigned area of responsibility.

(12) Stay abreast of relevant science and current research, as well as relevant regulatory and policy-related issues.



**REQUIREMENTS** : The contractor ideally would have:

(1) Ph.D. in Public Health, Biochemistry or a related health-science field with a minimum of two (2) years of experience working on large-scale epidemiological research; or MPH in Epidemiology or a Masters degree in Biochemistry with a minimum of seven (7) years of experience working on large-scale epidemiological research.

(2) Documented leadership role in conducting and/or managing epidemiologic research with a focus on health measures and biospecimen collection.

(3) In-depth knowledge of the epidemiology of tobacco use, as well as the current state-of-the-science of the field.

(4) Experience in health measures and biomarker analysis related to tobacco use and collection and proper handling and processing of health measures and biospecimen samples.

(5) Experience in data analysis software such as SAS, Stata, Mplus, or R; expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

(6) Publication record commensurate with experience.

(7) Strong interpersonal and communications skills, exceptional attention to detail and excellent writing skills.

(8) Strong communications skills, both oral and written.

(9) Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.

(10) Ability for work independently with limited or no supervision, as well as collaboratively within a research team.
