Kelly Services is currently seeking an **Equipment Technician** for one of our top clients in **Durham, NC** .


The equipment technician implements and maintains manufacturing and test equipment. Applies technical expertise frequently and has knowledge of related disciplines. Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

**Duties and Responsibilities:**

**Equipment Technician**

Support equipment implementation in R&D and clinical manufacturing facility:

o Prepares production equipment for qualification, including but not limited to: change control, turn over package preparation and review, testing, and validation

o Manage fabrication of custom components through vendor contact

o Develops training documents and may train manufacturing technicians

Maintain Equipment and Manufacturing Suite:

o Conduct preventative maintenance activities

o Assist in maintaining equipment records pertaining to preventative maintenance, calibration activities, and equipment service contracts

o Assist with equipment / process diagnosis and problem solving

Communicate production issues to management to improve operations

o Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs

o Recommends changes or upgrades to equipment or methods supporting continuous improvement.

General understanding or willingness to develop expertise related to process pipework, basic pneumatic and electrical control systems.

Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders.

Participate in staff meetings and special project teams where required.

Willingness to cross train to support manufacturing or packaging campaigns.

Follows all corporate and regulatory requirements to ensure product integrity and quality control.

Maintain a safe working environment

o Observe and follow all safe operation practices

o Routinely inspect facility safety equipment

o Maintain a clean and clutter-free production environment


Associates or Bachelors degree (degree in science, technology, or engineering preferred)

Experience working in a pharmaceutical production facility preferred, but not required


Good oral and written communication skills with an ability to work in cross-functional product development and manufacturing teams.

Ability to conduct a wide range of manufacturing efforts in GMP and R&D contexts.

**Physical Demands & Work Environment**

As part of the regular duties for this job, a candidate must:

Be able to work with various chemicals once given proper protective equipment and training.

Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight repeatedly and safely.

Be capable of operating a computer and sitting for extended periods.
